...sure, Daily Show's good for a howl, and Stewart can be genuinely insightful whether he's slapping one side of the issue, or the other (and he slaps around both sides, which is why some might think he's an assfuck).

But I can't help wondering if Mess-O'-Potamia and all the other snarky spoofs of right-wing insanity don't...make it all a little too palatable, too acceptable, too "sure, Li'l Dubbie's a dumbass but there's nothing we can do about it except laugh and roll our eyes."

Stewart's more trustworthy than any of the major "real" news sources--but he'll never show anyone the true threats that are bearing down on us, because he's a comedian, not a buzzkill.
