two hallmarks of the far left:

1. An opinion that's repeated so much they take it, and present it, as fact ("most Americans can't tell the difference")

2. And like you said, a militant little communist girl bitching and moaning at a bar taking in the far left propaganda - but doing nothing else.

Perhaps the bar represent the far left wing of DU?

Someone on the outside looking in might think that clip parodies the far left's fear of the boogeyman DLC.

Don't be so hard on the DLC, they hate Bush just as much as any other Democrat does. They're not so much Republican-lite as they are Democrat-lite. Just because someone is more conservative than YOU ARE doesn't make them a conservative, unless you're fairly conservative or moderate. Those are just my two cents
