An NBC 7/39 news crew attended the forum Tuesday and recorded Mattis' comments. Among other things, he said, "Actually, it's a lot of fun to fight. You know, it's a hell of a hoot. ... It's fun to shoot some people. I'll be right upfront with you, I like brawling."

He added, "You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn't wear a veil," Mattis continued. "You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them."

Is it okay to shoot American men who slap their wives around for years, because of some made up fault?

Or does his idea just apply to Muslims?

It's about religion. We need to cut the crap and admit it.

Using religion as an excuse for the subjugation of others and the seizing of their wealth is as old as civilization itself. The "religious left" needs to pipe up and condemn this. It also needs to condemn the flagrant evangelism going on over there.
