Build Them Up....Tear Them Down

I just had a thought. I was really getting tired and apathetic from one post. I even mentioend it. Then the very next post I read made me think.

You know how Americans supposedly have a penchant for building people up, but an even bigger one for tearing them down? Could that be going on here?

Could it just be a natural progression of our society? The Republicans and NeoCons are down...they get built up, probably with help from certain billionare paper owners etc. The thing is that news is news, and americans like people being destroyed. Particularly famous ones. Whether it is on American Idol and an anonymous kid from Cleveland, or the President of the United States. We love seeing people be torn down.

Could the tide be turning now? The conservative movement has gotten so large and powerfull, they control all the branches of government and now are threatenting to destroy every liberal program since the New Deal. Maybe we'll start seeing the media turn our way, if only because Americans love to watch their Hero's get destroyed.

One can hope.

Perhaps if an actual independent media (AAR and the like) come to prominence- otherwise I don't foresee GE, AOL et al. acting against their own interests ($$).

I will, however, join with you in hope.
