Simon Rosenberg posts a diary at Daily Kos re his endorsement of Dean
Fellow Kossaks
by Simon Rosenberg

Fri Feb 4th, 2005 at 12:28:51 PST

Today I endorsed Howard Dean to be the next chair of the DNC. While I am disappointed that I did not win, I believe Governor Dean - with help from all of us - will be a good Chairman and will help write a new and better chapter to the already remarkable story of our Party. My full statement is below in the extended entry.
As for you all, thank you. Thank you for your kind words. Thank you for your concern about our Party. Thank you for the money you've raised, the people you've touched, the passion you bring and your fighting spirit that has inspired me every day for so long now. You are doing good my friends. Keep it up. We still have a lot of work to do.

And yes, I will be working hard with you each day to make sure that our Party is stronger and that Governor Dean becomes a successful and effective Chair.

Till the next time,

S

2. Whoa, he's out?
That's it, then. No way Fowler can take Dean.

DAYUM. :silly: Now THIS is going to be interesting!

6. Yes! Simon "The Iraq War ROCKS!" is out. Cool.
He just prevented the possibility of quite a few Dems bolting if he'd won it.

22. Simon Said "The Iraq War ROCKS"? If Not, Why Are You Lying?
this is the sort of remark that DU'ers need to look at, fully examine and ultimately step away from.

Flaming a fellow Democrat who wants to reform the power structure much the same way WE do when he leaves the race.

Classless.

23. It was a characterization, not an exact quote.
To be precise, he said "the Iraq war was a good thing".

To me, THAT'S classless - and wrong.

3. Class act.
To bow out gracefully is nearly a lost art these days. I think I'd be proud to support him in the future.

5. I was impressed...
...by his comments after the "bloggerscandal" broke, and he's been second on my list since. Glad to see he's endorsed Dean. Best of luck to him and I'm sure he'll play a role in the rebuilding...

8. Rosenberg was my second choice (followed closely by Webb)
It's good that he's backing Dean now. Hopefully Dean will recognize what he can do for the Party and not allow his skills to be underutilized.

Let's hope it happens. They would be very effective working together at the DNC.

17. Admittedly, I don't know a lot about Rosenberg
But if the guy split from the DLC, he can't be too bad. Maybe he can convince other centrist Dems to do the same, since the corporatist Likud sympathizers led by From, Reed, and Marshall certainly don't resemble "moderates" by any stretch of the imagination.

21. Rosenberg's a classy guy.
I saw a few of the candidate forums on CSPAN and he came well. No backbiting and sniping at other candidates and he had good ideas as well.
