the most absolute proof that Bush is INCOMPETENT
From Dan Froomkin's great daily briefing.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/politics/administration/whbriefing/

Consider this exchange at Friday's Tampa event, where a woman (whose question was somehow not transcribed by the White House) asked how the private accounts would fix "the red problem." She was referring to Bush's snazzy charts illustrating what he said was Social Security's "red ink."

Here's Bush's response, in its entirety:

"Because the -- all which is on the table begins to address the big cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculate, for example, is on the table; whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or price increases. There's a series of parts of the formula that are being considered. And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those -- changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be -- or closer delivered to what has been promised.

"Does that make any sense to you? It's kind of muddled. Look, there's a series of things that cause the -- like, for example, benefits are calculated based upon the increase of wages, as opposed to the increase of prices. Some have suggested that we calculate -- the benefits will rise based upon inflation, as opposed to wage increases. There is a reform that would help solve the red if that were put into effect. In other words, how fast benefits grow, how fast the promised benefits grow, if those -- if that growth is affected, it will help on the red.

"Okay, better? I'll keep working on it."

If I were her, I would've just said "well you didn't really explain it therefore I will explain it for you in simpler terms--you're just screwing us over period. Thank you very much."

5. problem is he is a very poor actor.
He doesn't memorize lines well, and forgets half of the phrase, because when he speaks, it's not grammatical errors, it is fragments of memorized, scripted answers, that's why they never make sense.

When a person answers honestly, you never have a problem understanding the answer, when they start off with "well what you have to look at ... OR my personal favorite, "well, what you need to understand is...

chances are you understand just fine and dandy and they are trying to rationalize something underhanded to make it presentable to what they think is the stupid public.

6. Just WOW!
Obviously daddy paid Dubya's way through college. Saw something the other day that the White House is trying to say Bush is a reader. He carried around the VERY SAME BOOK for 6 months during the campaign trying to give the impression he was reading it. Also once tried to talk about the content of book he'd "read." The sentence or two was so simplistic...something like "it was hard to start democracy." sounded like something a 3rd grader would say. Are we the only ones who notice Shrub cannot speak in complete sentences, let alone think straight.

9. Did anybody read the transcript of Clinton's panel discussion
Dan compared the "open discussion" that Bush has with all of his cult members to a panel discussion Clinton had in 1998 on the same topic of SS reform.

Whereas Bush banishes anyone who is not like-minded, Clinton actually comprised a panel of advocates and dissenters, and even went so far as to make sure his audience members were an accurate representation of the populace where he was.

Dan has a link to the transcript of that meeting. I have tears in my eyes just reading the words of a president who could speak in complete, thoughtout sentences, that was willing to listen to the other side, that understood what he was talking about. All I ask is for someone that has a clue!

It hurts to know that we went from a Rhodes Scholar to someone who has an open disdain for knowledge! Ugh, I can't take this anymore!

12. yeah, I remember Diane Sawyer interview recently
Obviously, since it was Diane Sawyer, no serious questions were asked, but just hearing a president who sounded like a person with human thoughts and emotions instead of a retarded sociopath.

Maybe someday we'll get that back.

19. Bush has some sort of brain damage.
Admit it. There just isn't any other explanation for the way he "speaks". This thread contains only one example. There are literally thousands of others.

Barbara and Big George, though obviously evil, do not appear to be subnormal in intelligence. Therefore, since Bush has no obvious specific syndrome, it is likely that his inherited intelligence is going to be roughly in the same range as theirs. Yet he appears to be much stupider than either of his parents.

That leaves brain damage--something that must have happened post-birth. Golly, what could it be? Hey, can drinking hard for 20+ years hurt a person's brain? Just wondering.

11. HERE IS THE REAL MESSAGE: Just take out the superflous words.... ->
All you need to do is remove the excess words and you get Bush's true message:

"Because the benefits are price increases. There's a series that are being considered. And cost affecting personal accounts, the idea is to get more.

"Does that make any sense? It's kind of muddled. Look, there's things that cause the increase of prices. Some have suggested that we opposed wage increases. There is a red effect. In other words, how the promised benefits will help the red.

"Okay, better? keep working."

20. Here's the deal/answer!
Bush has average intelligence...so he is smarter than half the people. So half think he is pretty smart.

17. Reminds of watching the debates drunk.
I was pretty inebriated, and couldn't make any sense out of what Gee Dub was saying. So I turn to my brother and say (or slur), "Is he making any sense, or is it just me?"

Turns out it wasn't just me.

18. "Spies Like Us"
You only need to watch about the first 10 minutes of the movie, with Chevy Chase giving a press briefing. Even though it came out in 1985, it is the most frightening, dead-on impersonation of W talking to, well, just about anyone.
