CNN's Inside Politics now does a segment on what the blogs are saying
Edited on Tue Feb-15-05 04:01 PM by Pirate Smile
everyday.

I thought it was just a one time thing yesterday but I guess not. They call it "Inside blogs".

They are just going over all the different stories the blogs are covering.

This makes it easier to make the jump from the Internet to the Corporate Media.

1. They did mention Plame, did mention Gannon - it's certainly more than
FAUX is going to show.

2. people who never read blogs and have no idea what is pertinent
read the blogs with an eye toward directing viewers away from the real news and into a bunch of worthless speculation fueled by rightwingers.

Ooo what a great service!

GET THEM OFF THE AIR NOW!!

They can really play up the somewhat credible conservative stuff and ridicule the far left blogs and treat them like they're mainstream.

4. Woodruff: "How much of this is driven around cable news?"
What an incredibly egotistical self-centered question. No Judy, the world does not revolved around CNN. The blogs are about getting around the filtered crap on CNN, like the endless MJ trial coverage. That comment from her was like a desperate cry for cable news pundits like her to remain relevant. They are afraid.

is that PROPAGANDISTS such as yourself, Judy, are worthless to the thinking crowd, US!!!

8. I know. That comment cracked me up. She wants to think the crap they
report is the news that is flying around the Internet. Sorry, Judy.

I also thought it was hilarious when Howie said how NOBODY was really talking about Michael Jackson. True! We don't give a sh@t about Michael Jackson. Stop covering it 24/7 like it effects everyones daily life.:eyes:

12. Right, shouldn't the lack of MJ coverage be a hint
Hello? Is anybody home? Don't you think that might mean that no one gives a crap about the MJ trial? Their continued attention to that kind of sensational crap is exactly what drives people to the blogs.

All these news networks love to talk about b.s. like this. Oy. I think it's getting really annoying. Only thing is Scarborough talked about it a few minutes at the end of his show and that's not too bad. He was talking about all the celebrities at the hearings and what good would it do to have them. I did agree with him on one point tonight and that was all these celebrities wouldn't do any good except if they were like Corey Fieldman and were a child star and grew up around him. And hey: where is Maculay Culkin? Didn't they hang out a lot together? Is he going to be there? I think all these other people are just useless when it comes to this particular case.

About as much of the stock market is driven by Judy's wardrobe choices.

Sheesh!

17. I doubt she can see the irony with her blinders on
but it almost made my head spin completely around when she said that. I mean, SHE is doing a story on blogs. The reality is that blogs drove CNN to this segment, as well as the "Guckert ruckus".

22. Well, in one respect, she's partially correct. It is being driven by
cable news - IN THAT we are being DRIVEN by cable news's appallingly delinquent lapdog job, to our own searches for the truth. It's because they've done such an abominable job in pursuing the news that we ARE driven by cable news, judy. We are driven AWAY, to go off and find stuff out for ourselves. We have to do our own digging now, thanks to you guys and your White House kneepads and your Gross Dereliction of Duty. Because we CAN'T RELY on you and your fellow rove toadies anymore.

9. that stooge made a big deal about "integrating" blogs with MSM
yesterday she took credit for breaking the Gannon website story before quickly correcting herself...

SCHECHNER: Now there's a spike today and the reason why is because he had told you that some of these sort of racier sites that he had allegedly been a part of didn't exist.

KURTZ: He had registered the addresses, he said the sites never actually went up.

SCHECHNER: Well, we found it. Or actually, one of the bloggers found it. We found it through the blog. Americablog.com which is a liberal site found it. Now we would show you that but the pictures on that site are actually kind of racey. So we didn't want to go there but Wonkette.com (ph) has it as well. And you can read about that story.

Yeah, I'd say ONE OF THE BLOGGERS FOUND IT. what's this "We" crap?

27. Honest and truthful...
I am a liberal. That's what created this country. That's in our Constitution. I think we should be very clear on this. You know, this country was founded on the principals of the Enlightenment. It was the idea that people could talk, reason, have dialogue, discuss the issues. It wasn't founded on the idea that someone would get stuck by a divine inspiration and know everything right from wrong. I mean, people who founded this country had religion, they had strong beliefs, but they believed in reason, in dialogue, in civil discourse. We can't lose that in this country. We've got to get it back."

about the founding fathers and the Constiution and of course they (a pro-Bush republican/neocon)just went on and claimed we were founded on Christian principles and all that. But there is a George Washington quote that says: "The United States is in no sense founded upon the Christian religion." :eyes:

23. Reminds me of the Kurtz shit about how terrible blogs are
because they don't go through the scruitny nor subject to the criticism, etc. that you find in mainstream media. Ohhhhh, you mean like the radio airwaves jammed with Limbaugh, North, Liddy and other criminals who base everything they say on the gospel truth (wouldn't know the truth or the gospel if they fell over it!). Or how about the tv preachermen who screw a round Jesus in the square hole of politics every day and call it religion?? Or how about you journalists who do tell us the news: or at least the half that either praises Republicans/fucks Democrats/or cover's up for Bush?? You know "half the truth is better than none"!!!
