Rep. Louise Slaughter turns up the heat on WH (re: Gannon)
Text of Slaughter's 2/17 press release:

Washington, DC - During the February 10 White House briefing, Press Secretary Scott McClellan stated that Jeff Gannon, "...like anyone else, showed that he was representing a news organization that published regularly" in order to receive his day pass to press briefings. It has been confirmed that Jeff Gannon was in the White House briefing room, actively participating in these briefings, as early as February 28, 2003 a full month before Talon News even existed.

Rep. Louise M. Slaughter (NY-28), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Rules, who has lead the call for answers in this matter, today called on the White House to explain their relationship with the discredited "reporter" once and for all.

"It has been a week since I wrote President Bush seeking answers in this matter. I have not yet received a reply. With each new revelation it becomes more and more clear that the relationship between the White House and Jeff Gannon was anything but typical," said Slaughter. "It is time for this Administration to stop the stonewalling and come clean with the American people," she added

Hope to see her on TV again -- she was great last time...

1. Wow, she seems to keep pretty well informed...
...doesn't she? To the minute. Wonder where she picks it up, because it sure as hell isn't from the MSM...

I am grateful to Ms. Slaughter. We deserve some honesty for once from this administration. I only hope this will the 'straw that breaks the elephant's back!'

7. What we need...
...is a White House journo to really pump their sources to get to the root of this story!

6. Yeah
I was trying to find out if Rush Limbaugh has commented on it--if he has, it hasn't made his website. I can see why, there's no way it makes his boy look good.

14. Yup
I wish they'd be honest JUST ONCE. We know that'd never happen. On this one board I go with mixture of people nobody has talked about this.

3. Thank you, Louise Slaughter!
Someone is out there asking the "hard" questions on these jackboots.

This maladministration makes it easy for investigators..if anyone ever would.

9. Gannon is to Karl Rove what Clyde Tolson was to J Edgar Hoover
Its the collaboration in all these document "forgeries" that give the relationship away. Gannon is the leg-man in too many of Rove's dirty tricks.

The pixey-dust is everywhere. Gannon's way too involved in Rove's scams not to be Rove's most trusted confidant, which points to him being Rove's lover too.

Rove should make an honest man out of Gannon and marry him. The lovers should be honest and celebrate a gay marrage at the WH.

Rove is probably Gannon's "bottom" when they are having sex. When they aren't "doing it," Rove has Gannon "discover" these various forgeries that keep cropping up, so conviently for Bush.

13. So much for the Dems backing off
must have been an ugly rumor or something.

Don't look like they're backing off to me.
