4. Republicans & Neocons don't have to SERVE in the military
Don't you know anything? :eyes:

They're the philosopher kings. It's just all of the American people, including Bubba Nascar, their biggest supporter, who are the filthy, ignorant masses who need to be lied to and manipulated.

Geez -- get with the propaganda.

10. Why? Have they been banging war drums?
It would only matter if they advocated that others should fight and die when they were unwilling to do so themselves.

8. Wesley K. Clark - 4-Star General (34 years in uniform)
Among personal medals: The Award for Silver Star states, "As the friendly force maneuvered through the treacherous region, it was suddenly subjected to an intense small arms fire from a well-concealed insurgent element. Although painfully wounded in the initial volley, Captain Clark immediately directed his men on a counter-assault of the enemy positions. With complete disregard for his personal safety, Captain Clark remained with his unit until the reactionary force arrived and the situation was well in hand. His courageous initiative and exemplary professionalism significantly contributed to the successful outcome of the engagement. Captain Clark's unquestionable valor in close combat against a hostile force is in keeping with the finest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 1st Infantry Division, and the United States Army."

9. Me....
Joined US Army Reserve at age 17, active Reserve until 1991, IRR until 1995. To this day, I wish I'd waited to join the regular Army. Big regret in my life.

18. Way ta go!!!
I'm going to liberate this for my blog -- thanks!

While I never served, I come from a long line of those who did -- back to the French & Indian Wars, the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War -- Union, WWI, WWII, my first husband served during Korea, my second during the early 60s -- all of his brothers during Nam -- I had three sons on active duty when 9/11 happened.

I've seen the damage to friends and relatives and appreciate their service; I didn't support VietNam, once I got past the propaganda of "domino theory," and I've never supported Iraq as I don't believe in preemptive strikes and never believed the reasons given were satisfactory. Somehow, I just never believed that Saddam posed a direct threat to me and mine here in the U.S. Subsequent information has proven that it was worse than that. I really believed that the tribal and religious differences would cause Iraq to fall to civil war -- I've not changed my mind. Civil wars are the ugliest wars fought.

I don't support any war lightly as it'll be "my people" who'll be ass-deep in crap.

19. They also serve
who only stand and wait.

But that depends on what they are doing while they wait and what they are waiting for.
