They hate us for...?

Let's see if I got this right?

So the Western Super Powers, and others, throughout the ages, have screwed with the Middle East.
Whether it be the Spanish Inquisition or the U.S. and Brits carving up boundaries or the CIA overthrowing Iran and Iraq to install brutal dictators (the Shah and Saddam) or any number of incidences that the people remember who live there.

All that doesn't matter.
The real reason they "hate us" is like shrub says, "They hate us 'cause we can buy a house, they hate us for our freedoms".

Are these people walking around our towns that voted for bu$h nothing but plastic robot zombies?

1. In all fairness

They've screwed with the west since at least the 9th Century AD. The Arab invasion of Europe was halted at the Battle of Tours by Charles Martel. Let's not forget the desecration of Constantinople and so on. Neither side can claim they have no blood on their hands.
