Bill Maher

I don't have cable and certainly don't have HBO but my mom tapes Maher every Friday and mails it to me. Just got it today and watched it.

I must say that he reinvigorated the political 'me' that had been beaten down and discouraged by the election. Since I'm in a red state in the middle of "Redland" I rarely meet and interact with people who I can feed off of...but Maher definitely helped.

I just want to let DU know that I'm finally ready to reenter the fold. Something as disappointing as November can shake anyone and it takes friends to pull through. Thanks guys/gals, and especially Maher.

I'm back:)

2. They're still having the

new season opener showing. It'll air tonight and early morning. Just have to check your local guide. The season opener has Joe Biden, Robin Williams and some republican guy. I'll have to catch all of it. I like to watch his show every once in a while. :)

I too get a kick out of Maher. Yes, he's inflamatory, and Lord knows we don't ALWAYS agree, but one thing he has is guts. Guts, heart, and brains. The three most essential body parts.

5. Glad to hear about your reinvigoration!

I'm in a blue county in a red state, & I am sorely disappointed in my many friends & acquaintances who were fired up but lost their fire after 11/2. I can understand it to a degree, but worry if they will be re-kindled come the 2006/2008 elections.

Hopefully, someone/something will inspire them as Maher inspired you.

6. Hey That's Great!

It's funny for a long time after the election I didn't wan't to pick up a paper or even watch the Daily Show or Bill Maher -- it was just all to sad to laugh at. I'm finally at that point again now. Welcome back to the fold!
