1. Proof that Republicans care nothing for good, competent GOVERNANCE.
They care only for power and control to enrich themselves and their corporate cronies.

They throw celebrities into office just so they can control what happens in that state, NOT because the person is the more competent governor.

2. Notice how the face of the Republican Party is changing from
statesman and people with public service records, to actors and football players? Why is that? I suspect it's because no one can run on a Republican platform, but it doesn't matter when too many people vote for candidates based on name recognition and popularity contests. Who cares if these people have never done the hard work on issues within the political arena....they played great roles and scored lots of touchdowns.

This is going to be the new face of the Republican Party. They'll get the votes and the corporations will manage the policies.

12. McGraw...

Another potential wild card in the South (presumably Tennessee) could be country singer Tim McGraw, who has indicated a long-time interest in running for the U.S. Senate and is a known Democrat. With this in mind, a Frist retirement could prompt some arm-twisting by the Dems to pony up a celebrity candidate who has proven to "connect culturally" with a state where that matters more than anything else. I'm not sure if Harold Ford would appeal outside of Memphis, but agree he would be the best candidate if they can't convince McGraw to run.

also he has stated he would wait until he was in his 50's to do this...

candidate to be: But I have no experiance, I wouldn't know what to do.

Political Recruiter (R): Doesn't matter, we run the show anyway, all you have to do is smile and nod once in a while and sign whatever we put in front of you...of course there will come a time when we will need a favor....

9. Swann is dumber than dirt
he's like a parrot for the neocon agenda. I have a feeling Rendell would destroy him in a debate--Rendell is schmoove like that--and I just cannot see the (very racist) center of the state electing an African American Governor, Republican or not.

16. Yep, Harris would stomp Swan....
if it comes down to favorite Steelers. Of course, Jack Lambert would be the hands down slam dunk favorite IMHO.
