Someone help me. Syria. Deadly Foe or Torture Ally?
Chimp & Co. are continually bashing Syria as part of the evil empire, Spenser of terror and oppressor of Lebanon and its own people. Rightfully so. However, we use Syria as place to send our "terror" suspects to be tortured for us. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/28/opinion/28herbert.html?
The contrast is rather stark. We know that the MSM won't take this on directly, however, why doesn't Syria use this issue to defend itself when Condi etc. attack?

2. Glad you brought this us, grumpy old fart.
I've been wondering where we were going to send the Torture Jet from now on if Syria is suddenly off-limits.

3. Syria just got a contract to drill for oil in Iraq a couple days ago.
There's a link somewhere on DU.

4. forgot any honest reporting from the corporate news media ...
for example, they love this quote:

“It’s strange for me to say it, but this process of change has started because of the American invasion of Iraq. I was cynical about Iraq. But when I saw the Iraqi people voting three weeks ago, eight million of them, it was the start of a new Arab world.” -- Lebanese dissident Walid Jumblatt

Not saying shit about this one from two months earlier:

“We are all happy when U.S. soldiers are killed week in and week out. The killing of U.S. soldiers in Iraq is legitimate and obligatory.” -- Lebanese dissident Walid Jumblatt (www.frontpagemagazine.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=16367)
