Why do Greenspan and the Committee play "word games" ??
Why can't they simply come out and say what the hell is on their mind? They make me fucking sick! Smiling and smirking and talking about deficits, taxcuts, Social Security in something that sounds like a secret code?? Why not simply come out and tell the triggin' truth?? Greenspan sucks!

1. you need to speak the language.
this guy isnt sitting around talking about the family budget, he is probably the most powerful man in the world. period.

he needs to pick and choose his words precisely, so that they dont startle the layman, confuse the average finance man, and only speak to a couple people.

2. greenspan is on a power trip..................................
in a town where lies are truth, up is down, etc.

if he told his truth in 5 minutes or less nobody would have to talk to him again for months. lack of clarity leads to speculation about what is really meant....endless speculation suited to the need to fill endless hours of cable broadcasting with useless garbage.

3. Where's Bernie Sanders?
He would set them straight.

The truth is Greenspan has always been an Ayn Rand devotee who worships at the throne of capitalism and has always philosophically been aligned with the gang opposed to the common good, while kissing up to the corporate class. He is lying through his teeth.

4. Because Greenspan IS the problem
Clinton should have fired him when he had the chance. Greenspan's reign at the Fed has been a disaster for working people across the country.

This is a man who DELIBERATELY keeps wages down, and stamps on the credit brakes at the first sign of inflation-- which is usually a rise in wages for working people.

So, instead of letting workers make higher wages, he keeps the "easy credit" tap open by keeping interest rates artificially low. This leads to less saving and more debt-spending by workers, whose wages no longer keep up with the cost of living.

And you know what that has lead to: record personal bankruptcies, record indebtedness to the banks and credit companies, and the lowest savings rate among industrialized countries.

Greenspan is not part of the problem, he and his monitorist cronies at the Fed ARE the problem. Get rid of him and his "supply-side" trickle-downers and put in somebody who's not afraid to let workers get their share.

9. Typical Greenspan
making education solely the issue of wealth disparity.

He reminds me of Uriah Heep

10. "What do they do abroad that we don't"
That is what Greenspan just said regarding why those social democracies were more successful. I added the word "social democracies" to give him a clue.

11. Markets kinda rise and fall on their statements.
So it is only understandable that they would parse their words carefully.
