Amy Goodman just put some whoopass on Tweety
He tried to get her to admit that Social Security was "going broke". Amy would have no part of it. She said SS was "not in a crisis" and the quoted Gandhi about western civilization - that it might be a good idea. She did not permit him to push her around. She handled it perfectly by disputing the premise of his questions.

7. I can't stomach watching him anymore...
I tuned in the other night only to hear him call Bush's actions "heroic" ... I was beyond irritated.

Hero of our times..the corporatewhores think so, anyway..real people think he's a murdering, thieving, monkey's ass..

I'm betting our scenario is the accurate one.

25. Chris Matthews, ICK.
When the tweet asked if Walter Mondale was HORNY to get back into office after Wellstone got whacked, I nearly threw something at my t.v. set.

Matthews is a snotty little boy who cries to the teacher during recess.

He is worse than useless.

3. Didn't you just love that she hurled the Gandhi quote his way?
What is with Tweety? He fricking knows SS isn't going broke anytime in the near future. I loved the segment before when they were talking about how the MEDIA ISN'T DOING THEIR JOBS!!!! Woo hoo!

16. Does he? Does he really have the intellect and math skills to
know Social Security is not going broke? You talk like Tweety was a trained, investigative reporter. He is not. He is a teleprompted talking head, which means he can read at the sixth grade level. Period.

You seem to think that the TV media has some sort of special skill. They do not. Walter Conkrite warned us about the media "stars" in the sixties.

Tweety and ilk are attractive, personable, perky individuals whose main claim to fame is that they can sell themselves. That is why all the talk about Gannon does not make the M$M (which I consider is TV.) They are all $200.00 an hour prostitutes.

20. Twinkies
I love this quote from Linda Ellerbee:

"We call them Twinkies. You've seen them on television acting the news, modeling and fracturing the news while you wonder whether they've read the news - or if they've blow-dried their brains, too."

Remind you of anyone, or any one network?

21. More Linda Ellerbee Quotes
If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? How intelligent is it to start the day by tying a little noose around your neck?

10. Totally agree. She's strong, tough, brilliant and compassionate...
that is, she's everything he's not. He only knows how to throw a "hardball" to progressive women such as herself, and she redirects it back to him.

You Go, Girl!

11. She blew it
She should have said social security was insurance for young people for disability and orphans and widows. Not to mention, baby boomers have been paying extra FICA since 1987 which is the surplus Bush gave away in his tax cuts.

It's fine to talk a bit about our responsiblity to our elders and that they are moral values, AFTER you make the economic points.

I'm SOOOO bummed I missed it!!! I meant to TiVO it, but totally spaced. I'm not a fan of any of those pundit shows, but any chance to see Amy go after someone, and I'm there!

Democracy Now! is the only news program worth watching. Way to go Amy and Juan!

26. I used to DVR democracy now, but got
pretty burned out with it around election time. It is by far the best formated political show on TV. That said I did find at times that sometimes the left-wing rhetoric got mixed in to some of the stories.

But where else on TV can you listen to a 1/2 hour of Robert Fisk speaking about the assasination in Lebonon?
