Poll question: Would you support a "Draft Ralph" effort against Lieberman in 2006?
Edited on Thu Mar-03-05 11:11 PM by zulchzulu

Nader lives (or has a residence) in Connecticut. While it would be odd for him to run as a Democrat...maybe he could run as an Independant against JoeMentum in 2006 for the Senate seat. Would you support the movement to draft Nader to run?

1. I wouldn't support Nader if he ran...
Nader showed his true colors in last years elections. He's a PoS just like Lieberman.

2. NO...
Even if by some miracle Ralph did get elected (and not simply torpedo a viable Democratic candidate) he's about the last person I want swing voters to associate with the Democratic Party.

3. Geez, I thought Ralphie
was done away with by Tony Soprano and Chistopher, with his hands and head put in a bowling bag and buried in a remote upstate NY farm, and the remainder feeding the fishies.

Oh...the OTHER RALPH!!!! My bad....!

Too old, jumped the shark, done, finito, over, past his sell by date!

Time for some idealistic, fresh young blood. A clever and focused female, perhaps????

Ralph is a DC cretin, putative "residence" notwithstanding. And he is a closet millionaire, much as he tries to portray himself as some sort of socialist, "we the people" commie. In DC, he is often seen on the metro or grabbing cabs hither and yon, or making his young staffers, with their awful polluting vehicles, drive him here and there. And I'll bet he never chips in for gas, either, the cheap so and so.

He has too much baggage, and he is a sour, mean, old man. A spoiler. A divider. And I am sour and old myself, but I am sweet as new rain compared to that miserable old spoiler of a fart! He should step to the side, and let new blood rule...after all, it's new blood that will own this mess that the weecowboy made...

5. Lieberman is horrendous and I will definitely support....
a credible challenger from the Democratic ( mainstream) wing of the party.... but Nader???!!!

Come on Nutmeggers, you can do better than that. If it weren't for Nader, Bush Jr. would have been a long-forgotten bad dream.

Last I heard, Ralph was still pleased with himself that he helped get Bush elected by pulling votes from Gore.

9. No Tutu Democrats, and no Ralphs
I would never vote for either the king (queen?) of the Tutu Democrats, Joseph Lieberman, or the king of the Ralphs, Ralph Nader.

The Democratic party was Ralphed in 2000. Nader again tried to Ralph the Democrats in 2004. Never again will good Democrats allow a candidate to Ralph us again.

Stand tall! Speak up! Stand on principle! No more Ralphing!!

That's the scariest scenario yet.
Might as well ask which president of the shadow government we prefer post-apocalypse, Frist or Cheney, for all the good it does.
Is there not one dem who will step up before Ralph?
However I suspect there is a method to your madness.......

19. Not if he was the last carbon based life form on earth
If he's going to be drafted, it should be to go to Iraq. He helped us into this mess. He's not going to help us get out of it.

Plus he really seems to be kind of crazy now, judging by the recent appearances I've seen.

22. Sorry, I can't tell the difference between Nader and Bush. Cobb is OK.
Nader is financed by Republicans and does his best work for Republicans. He's not on our side.

24. Ugh! What a choice!
I think Nader's unbalanced. Serious megalomania there.

Lieberman's no prize, and I do wish a real Dem would challenge him. But it's not going to happen. He's funded and loved by the business interests here. He's the Dem the Reps can like, and the Dem's only choice. He's probably a lock.

26. I still have the Herblock cartoon skewering Nader.
On my refrigerator is a cartoon drawn by the late Herblock (Herbert Block), the legendary cartoonist who coined the term "McCarthyism." It's from the fall of 2000 and shows Nader as a blinded Samson pushing the pillars of the temple down and getting squashed in the process. I'll probably keep it up there until I move.

As for Lieberman, I'm cross with him, but I'm crosser with Nader.
