24. I love him just the way he is but, he like me, needs to back away
from the Krispie Kremes (et al).... LOL

Did you ever hear the program where he describes his "den" area? Whoa..it's got all one would need, except for a toilet, to keep from ever getting up. Popcorn machine, Big TV w/extras, fancy recliner with built ins, heating thingy for keeping his pastries warm, tiny frig...etc etc..

I DO hope he takes care because we all should and WE NEED HIM.

and as for health, well he's doing a heck of a lot better than he was a few years ago when he had that big C thing with his testicles. Nurse wife calls it testicular cancer.

He does "God Talk" (not a Christian program as much as a philosophical forum) Sunday mornings. That's where I first heard about "The Rapture" in detail.

38. That's right-- I forgot!! But thanks for reminding me
Bernie is extremely knowledgeable about religion-- but he doesn't get all whacked out when talking about it-- that is, he can converse about it intelligently and leave the emotion out of it.

What a concept.

7. There is nothing like the faux outrages of the right
I'm not a conspriacy person, but it seems like a pattern - the right wing comes up with all these phoney outrages by the supposed actions/thoughts of moderates and the left so the REAL outrages of the right are completely ignored.

6. Uncle Bernie and Rev Ray...
I'm sooooo grateful to those two and my proximity to KGO. Internet radio is awesome as well; it's interesting to hear from people a world away who listen via internet.

Cheers to the "Lion of the Left" :toast:

10. I'm a fan of Bernie and Ray
I listen to them on radio but usually miss the last hour of Ray when the static is impossible to listen to him. They should be on ARR but know they reach people out of ARR.

15. You said "static"...what area do you live in?
At night, the KGO station uses a "skip signal" that often reaches far beyond where I live. Matter of fact, I'm having some horrible screeching interference on my radio in the last two months and I live just south of San Fran over a coastal range of Mts. Been in touch with power company etc etc.. can't figure it out yet. Very distressing.

I've been using the interenet to hear them but poor hubby has zero to listen to while in bed because of this static. So, here I sit, about to access KGO online because of this insane interference. Can't listen in bed with radio until this static thing gets resolved.

Good luck :hi:

26. But what area do you live in??? A C. Crane radio may work BUT
if you live in an area where the skip signal "skips" over you, the Crane radio won't work that much better UNLESS you buy a special antenna to go with it...PLUS if you are near some source of electronic interference, you'll have to eliminate it no matter what you buy.

I'm in Santa Cruz; just south of San Fran. For YEARS we've been able to get KGO clearly...unless driving under a power line. All of a sudden, in the last two months we're getting this weird, alien, screeching noise that completely blocks transmission of any station coming from the Bay Area. It comes intermittenly, some days clear, several days messed up. It happens in the car as well as over the C. Crane radio and all other radios. It does NOT happen when dialing in other stations that are local or broadcast from the south or east of us.

I tried getting through to KGO (dialed wrong number) to see if any others from my area were complaining of the same thing. The interference happens in the day but mostly LATE AT NIGHT. I've called the Power company, they asked me to check the neighbors for new appliances. I checked all my household appliances...nothing has changed except the programing can't be heard anymore.

I'll have to call the Power Company again to complain. They did send a guy out when I was gone and hubby didn't know what was going on so he let the guy go away after telling him the fish tank was causing the problem...NOT.

KGO is coming in CLEAR right now. Had to pull it up on internet a while ago. Gawd, this is frustrating.

MAYBE IT'S A CONSPIRACY to curb Liberal talk radio??? :tinfoilhat:

Good Luck

27. Conspiracy Static
Thank you for the long........reply.Appreciate it really. I live in Pacifica, close to you. I have noticed lots of static late at night on KGO,Knew, and air america, also, on KSFO. actually KGO seems to have the best signal of all. So much for the conspiracy theory of which I have thought of too. But the right wing stations seem to have it too. Next time be sure to let hubby know what is going on, fish tank, that's funny. Please post again if you hear or learn anything more about static, I just figured it had something to do with the wheather. Thanks again...

I've noticed how the republicans don't answer the question's that are asked of them. They all go around in circle's and try to change the subject and to where they talk their talking points. These republicans are so greedy and disgusting!

election and a little beyond.

BUT-- good news... he's scheduled to come back:

The televised version of "The Al Franken Show" will return to Sundance Channel in response to "audience demand," the network announced recently. The "Al Franken Show" brings to television the political humorist's weekday program on Air America Radio. Sundance Channel President and C.E.O. LARRY Aidem and Air America Radio President Jon Sinton made the announcement of the show's renewal. The program will premiere Monday, June 6, and will air weeknights (Monday - Friday), and the series is slated to run through the end of 2005.

40. Bernie Ward Is Great - Any Ian Masters Fans Here?
I try to catch Bernie's show every night he's on. The guy is never at a loss for words and seems to have the facts and issues at the tips of his fingers. He has a very quick mind and obviously does a lot of reading. He's a very powerful voice for the left and makes no apologies whatsoever for being a Liberal with a capital "L".

Another show that I think is one of the best in America is Ian Masters' "Background Briefing" on Los Angeles Pacifica Station KPFK. Masters is also extremely intelligent and has guest after fantastic guest. Somehow he's able to get extremely good guests on his show. He comes on live for two hours every Sunday. His show two weeks ago was simply awe-inspiring. If you don't know this guy, please check out his archive of shows at his website. You will be fascinated at the depth of discussion on issues that matter to the left. I think he has the most intelligent, no-nonsense issues-oriented programs in the progressive media. I love Amy Goodman's Democracy Now and this is very much in the same vein. Masters has talked about supposedly going national in the near future.
