While I applaud most of his efforts with which I am familiar, I don't get why Waxman is wasting his time and our money on this.

Taxpayer money will be spent on a ridiculous dog and pony show that will accompish very little. All we will learn from this is stuff we pretty much already knew:

1. Some baseball players took steroids
2. MLB was oblivious to #1, or was in a state of denial about the supposed benefits of "performance-enhancing" drugs, or both
3. Even if MLB knew about #1, they were handcuffed by the players' union from doing anything about it.
