Hey, are any of the dems going to go out and hold Town Hall
Meetings on this social security thing. They need to hit the trail as well so the people can get a balanced discussion on this. You know what the bushies are going to be saying on their 60 day tour or whatever.

5. Yes...they are out there. Our two house reps in NC have been out there
Unfortunately Liddy Dole and Richard Burr (Edward's Replacement) are not going to be doing anything but sharpening the knives.

But, some calls and faxes to them might make them think twice.

6. " Democrats launch counter-Bush tour"
Some are doing that on a local level for their states. I know Rep. McDermott had one recently in Washington State.

Now it looks like a counterpoint effort is being launched.

The forum this morning at Pace is the first event in a four-city swing featuring former presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry, New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg and New York's two senators, Charles Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Also on the trip will be Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, Dick Durbin of Illinois and Byron Dorgan of North Dakota.
The Democratic campaign-style tour will continue on to stops in Philadelphia, Phoenix and Las Vegas.

Unlike Bush's privatized perversion of the Town Hall meeting format, the Democrats' meetings will be open to all:

Jennifer Hanley, a spokeswoman for Clinton, said they were not screening the crowd.
"The forum is open to all New Yorkers who are concerned about the future of Social Security," said Hanley. "We've encouraged all who can to attend."
