I know George W. Bush is the principal opponent of Democrats, but, folks, he's been reelected and he's sticking around till 2008. (We do not have the political muscle for impeachment.) It's time to look at the main contenders for the Democratic nomination. Bill Frist I think we can afford to go up against since he's so cardboardish, but I honestly think that other contenders such as Santorum and Owens and Romney could win in 2008 because of where they come from and because of their social conservatism, which will energize the GOP base. We've got to start focusing on them, because we will never face George W. Bush in an election again.
Edit: don't misconstrue what I'm saying as to stop holding Bush's feet to the fire or whatever it is we do. We should continue to criticize him, because he deserves it. But we shouldn't let him distract us.
