Defeating Bush: Admission of Mistake finally Heard!!
Democrats are making headway and the voices of the people are mowing down the insane policies of the Bush administration. Keep the pressure on! Keep those emails and polls flying through the ethernet.

WASHINGTON

WASHINGTON (Creators Syndicate) -- George W. Bush, who is not prone to confessing mistakes, has confided to close associates that he committed a whopper on Social Security.

He admitted error in pushing for new personal accounts while not stressing the repair of the safety net for seniors. As a result, Republicans returned to Washington this week from the congressional recess deeply shaken by what they encountered back home.

Thanks to the orchestrated effort of the AARP and organized labor even in the most Republican districts, GOP lawmakers encountered angry opposition to President Bush's plans at town meetings.

to have this halfwit steal thier money without a fight! My grandmother, who generally is clueless about politics had heard about this and signed a petition forwarded through her ecumenical meetings.

3. They turned tail and ran!
For all the bluster I heard, as soon as people got wind of Bush's plans for SS they let him have it.

Shows people are opening their eyes.
People less likely to trust Bush in the future---it shows social programs are not unpopular as Bush says

4. "repair of the safety net for seniors" They still don't get it.
They are destroying the safety net for all Americans and throwing us to the mercy of the whims of an increasingly unregulated market. And, if the young folks suffer from a faililng economy, there will be no net for the seniors.

16. wrong talking points
That's what they mean. They thought greed would win and they could create a generational war and the youth and tail-boomer voice would prevail. bzzzt. Wrong.

So now they've got this snake oil tour to try to repair the damage and use the focus group tested "safety net for seniors" to try to dupe people into believing they care.

8. Now, all the democrats need to hit replublican senators and congressmen...
...with this:

"President Bush has recently claimed that his push for switching social security over to private accounts was an error. Do you agree with this statement, or are you still in favor of dismantling the current system in favor of privitization?"

It's time to hang them all out to dry!

9. Very nice... Bush's first defeat in office that may just stand up
They made this a huge issue on their own and it got shot down without any help from the corporate media. This may be a good first step in opening some eyes out there
