We have only 45 people on the front line protecting America...
It's an awesome responsibility. They are the buffer between freedom and fascism. They are the line that must be crossed before we get a Supreme Court of radicals - willing to interpret the Constitution in their own limited and narrow ideological viewpoint. They are all that we have to keep Social Security from being dismantled and put in the bathtub. We can only hope that all 45 of them recognize and understand the position that history has bestowed upon them. They are the 45 Democrats in the United States Senate. They are all that we have. Let us not forget that.

2. They directly represent 50.7% of the population of the U.S.
The Reichpublicans directly represent 49.2%. (The remaining 0.1% are represented by Jim Jeffords.)

3. Usually there's not even 45
on account of the likes of Lieberman, Biden, Nelson, and a few other weak-kneed DLC turncoats.

5. Yep
I'm glad we have them though. I'd hate to be in their situation's with all the tough fighting and all the headache's from the Bushies. :\ God bless them though! I saw the Democratic SS thing tonight and it was great.

7. Biden a turncoat?
He was the only sane Senator during the buildup to the war--and I think that on foreign relations, he's the most sensible senator serving at the moment. Just because he's in favor of a bad bill doesn't mean he isn't one of us.

8. Biden has signed a PNAC document
That is treason, period. Not just against the party either, but against this country, as PNAC is the enemy of America and the ones responsible for this LIE called the "war on terrorism".

17. PNAC is not treason.
That's absolutely ridiculous. They have dangerous ideas, but they are not treasonous ones. You're slightly confused.

18. No, I do mean Biden.
He expressed a rather sensible view--Saddam Hussein may be a threat that requires military action, given his general militarism and expansionism, and removing him may possibly have positive ramifications in the mideast, but at the same time to act without international backing would be foolish, as would acting before we knew if we had to, as would botching the war in the same manner Bush did. Of all the Senators who could be called pro-war (and nearly all were), he was the one who laid out the most intelligent case for war--and has had the most accurate criticisms of the way in which the war was carried out since.

14. He's backing the bankruptcy reform act, among other things.
I know he has to make his Delaware credit card donors happy, but that hardly speaks to me of a man of the people.

11. There are some in the house fighting for us
The entire Congressional Black Caucus which is primarily from the House of Representatives, Kucinich and other Representatives such as Wexler of Florida. (Name your representative if he/she is with us. Unfortunately mine is Foley--Mr. Lockstep closeted gay republican)

The there is the ACLU, PFAW, Lawyer's Guild, AAR, Common Cause and a hosts of others.

So the Sen. Dems do not stand alone.

13. Well...that's a cheerful message.
However, realistically, I think if it comes to dire straits, some Republicans would realign.

For some illusive reason I remain optimistic about the American people.

15. Think about those up for re-election in '06 and the popular
opinion concerning SocSec reform. I know JD Hayworth got an earful the other day--and it wasn't a hand-picked one, either.

I think we may well have more than 45 occasionally in the Senate.

16. You forgot to mention that out of that "45," how many can we count on to
be in the "trenches" with us when we get to "Armaggedon."

19. I really miss Paul Wellstone...
Such a loss his death was. He would have been out there fighting every day against the Bush crime family.
