Most effective Social Security Oped Ever! And I wrote it!
Didn’t we make Social Security because the private sector failed during the Great Depression? Have we got all those glitches fixed?

1. The banks failed, and with no FDIC, savers lost everything.
The stock market crashed, and investors lost most everything.

The Glass-Steagall Act didn't exist so banks over-margined themselves and others and failed. The Glass-Steagall Act was just repealed a few years ago.

So, what is it that we have forgotten? Everything that we knew about the crony capitalists and how they will destroy the rest of the economy as long as they can fill their greed.
