2. NOW is still on
and it's still tackling the stories the mainstream news avoids. It's been reduced to half an hour, though, which causes a lot of people who are too lazy to hit the remote to either miss it or to sit through a half hour of right wing propaganda right after it.

I get my news from the web. I may occasionally watch Frontline, but let's face it, anything on TV that claims it's news is just more corporatist horseshit and tabloid crapola.

I have better things to do with my time (like crank on DU).

4. Agree with Cest Pas.
Hit the cable company censors where it hurts...Get a satellite system that gives you alternatives...We get Democracy Now..Real news...Link TV news...Cable companies are owned by the media moguls who want to keep you stupid..Don't let them do it..
Dish TV gives you Link and Free Speech tv...The other satellite outlet is being acquired by Murdock...You won't regret it...
"Kill Your TV."

6. "Now" is still pretty good. But they cut it to a thirty minutes
program. I miss Bill Moyers. Countdown is okay. Jon Stewart is priceless.

7. Yes. David Brancaccio is still on NOW.
He had an interested interview with a man who wrote "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" (can't remember his name. But I must get that book and read it. The subject matter is the manner in which the U.S. impoverishes third word countries by creating debt that the countries cannot repay.

8. Your best bets for mainstream news
are CBS nightly news, Newshour on PBS, and Aaron Brown on CNN. Outside of the mainstream, I would say Democracy Now!.
