Thank you CNN, for posting this social security fact check
http://www.cnn.com/2005/ALLPOLITICS/03/04/social.security.factcheck/index.html

Who knows, I might actually use you guys for news one of these days, and not just watch your networks because I like looking at Rudy Bakhtiar.

plan to happen but I do have a question...Should private/personal accounts be factored in to a plan overhaul..will they be "required" or can someone just invest their 3 or 4% anywhere...? The two words would indicate gov't hands off..but, should their plans fail through poor management(we know that can happen) can they come back on a "welfare state appeal" when they reach retirement age? Their benefits would have been reduced by the amt. they chose for personal account and it may or may not have been invested wisely.

6. There is no plan...questions cannot be answered. They want the
Dems to come up with a plan which they will promptly blast and throw the Dems in the pit for a feeding feast.

2. Well, well. Will wonders never cease.
I just printed this off for my "Social Security Assault" file, and will send it to my two daughters who are in their 30s, just to be sure they're on top of this. Most impressive, of course, is that CNN present facts that are facts, and speaks the truth. May they continue!

3. One has to wonder, Why are they doing this?
With their record of whoring for the bu$h regime, there must be a driver here.
What is it?
Could it be that maybe CNN is softening the blow the chimp is going to take when the SS theft fails? They are preparing an exit strategy for him from this ill conceived thought?
Watch and see what does happen, because I am sure given the history of the network and the regime that something is behind this move.

4. Fox's ratings are higher than CNN
and they see the success of Air America over the past year. They have a choice--run further to the right or head back to the center/left and pick up the audience Fox alienates. Still won't watch them though. Only newsguy I trust is KO.

9. I think CNN has little blips like this...

...to make us think that they're something different than Fox News. Months ago I thought they'd notice that Fox News had already captured all of the right-wing news audience, but CNN still doesn't seem to be offering much of an alternative.

10. I don't care how far left CNN runs, I have tuned them out for good
I will not let my TV stop on CNN, FAUX, or MSNBC, fortunately on our Cable system all these channels are grouped together.

5. I totally agree...
...and I thought the same thing today.

Bush knows damn well his SocSec ideas are dead in the water. He knows it's a lost cause.

He's backing away from every SocSec idea he's proposed. Just a few minutes ago, I heard him say (CNN), that private accounts are "an add on" and only one piece of the puzzle that we can discuss."

Oh really now?

We all know that Bush only cares about privatizing.

He's given up.

Call me cynical--but this "60-city tour" is nothing but a diversion. They're planning something. Something really bad is being formulated and will be kicked off in the next couple of months.

While we're looking to the left--with the SocSec issue--something sinister is being hatched on the right.

Bush doesn't know...the only way they can keep in the real air on AF1 and out of the way in front of pre-qualifed audiences is to make him think that everything is great and his ideas are wonderful. How else can they him pumped up? His handlers know, however. They are trying some other ideas - Mitch McConnell trying to get the Dems to sit down. Hager coming up with an alternate plan to Bush which means the Dems sit down.

If the Dems sit down with them...they should all be tossed out.

Prevent them from sitting down because they will portray it as an admission by Dems that there is something wrong with SS. Dems cannot sit down with them.

Snakes and spiders are in the grass just waiting.
