Why is AP still running this 'Bush talking points' caption? >>>
Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 11:46 AM by Stephanie

Two days in a row, they are parroting Bushspin on SS.

President Bush (news - web sites) talks with Rev. Andrew Jackson, left, about his Social Security (news - web sites) reform proposals in Memphis, Tenn. on Friday, March 11, 2005. Bush is proposing a system of private accounts which would enable workers to divert a portion of their payroll taxes into stock market investments, giving relief to America's retirement system. 1. Whats with that Protection Our Seniors
It looks SOOOO photoshopped. At first i thought the poster had done it, but it's on the yahoo page.

Have they taken to editing photops to ensure thier propoganda spin points are more readable?

2. Nah, that's just some set design by Scott Sforza, staff propagandist
It's a strategically placed sign hanging off Bush's podium.

4. It DOES look fake, but I think it's legit.
It's the distance from the main focal point of the camera, I think, that gives it that illusion. Normally am object like that will be past the focal point, and thus a little blurry. Most amateur 'shoppers forget that, so when they drop a sign in, they leave it "too clear". However, in this instance, I believe the sign really was at the right distance to have a crisp picture taken of it. But, since we are used to seeing that as "wrong", it looks 'shopped.

7. Scott Sforza - WH staff designer
His name came up a lot when Bush was busted lying about the Mission Accomplished banner, when he claimed the WH had nothing to do with it and the sailors put up the banner. Seems that Sforza & crew were ensconced on the carrier days ahead of time to set up the photo op.

8. Well, he's a douche for working for them, but he does crisp work.
Not especially inspired (he really, really over-uses that "21st Century" font) but his printing process is second to none!
