Although I am paraphrasing, it was linking getting married with thinking you should be able to do whatever you want.

Now that's rich. Somebody tell that dude that getting married is NOT consistent with doing whatever you please. I suppose there are some people dumb enough to miss the fact that getting married is a committment, legal and otherwise.

But finally, the fundies have fallen to a depth that I wouldn't have believed possible--they have actually smeared marriage as a selfish act of whimsey. But on second thought, it's probably only selfish if gays want it.

the wrongly held notion that they are all promiscuous and shallow! Why, if they go around making public commitments to life partners, they are hurting all our preconceived notions about them. What about the children!?! </sarcasm>

I share your exasperation at the tendency of some fundy types to simply fail at logic. And I fail to understand how their marriages can be so fragile that the boys or girls down the street tying the knot threaten them.

Marriage is a good thing.
