where the fuck is Howard Dean?
We need a leader right now to toss this terrible day back in their faces.

Today, we witnessed the possible destruction of one of our best wild areas, and today all REPUBs voted AGAINST increasing veteran medical care!!!

Where the FUCK IS Howard Dean?

He should be holding a press conference on this right NOW. We cant let this shit slip through the media cycle.

10. No point using these votes until 2006
If we use them now they'll just get lost.

However, by 2006 we'll be able to weave these votes and others into a larger narrative about how Republicans don't care about ordinary Americans.

15. Here is a letter from him yesterday. Did you sign the petition?
SNIP.."Sometimes partisan politics gets overheated -- I know that as well as anyone. But when one party controls all three branches of government, and then seeks to change the fundamental principles and rules of our democracy, we need to talk about it soberly and seriously.

The Republican Senate leaders have decided to fundamentally alter the role of Congress -- they want to give George Bush unprecedented power to manipulate the legislative branch and the courts.

Today Harry Reid and the Democratic Senators asked us, the American people, to help them preserve the right of our elected representatives to speak their mind on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

We have to act. Sign this petition, which we will deliver to every U.S. Senator, asking them to protect the right to free speech in the Senate. If they don't, it is not only their voice that will be silenced -- it will be ours:

http://www.democrats.org/freespeech

Here are the facts: George Bush has appointed judges to lifetime positions at a better rate than any president in nearly three decades. More than 95% of his nominees have been approved. Only ten nominees have been refused -- all because they are unqualified and out of the mainstream.

But that's not enough. And on this issue, as on Social Security, it is becoming more and more obvious to everyone that the Republican leadership is out of touch with reality.

More Americans voted against George Bush than any sitting president in history. And that same day, across the country, the Democratic candidates for Senate received over 4 million more votes than Republicans.

Americans did not endorse the fringe agenda to dismantle Social Security. And they did not endorse dismantling the system of checks and balances that have served our country for over 200 years.

Please tell your Senator to stand up for free speech:

http://www.democrats.org/freespeech

This is not a partisan issue -- it is an American issue. And we all must act together in order to protect our democracy.

Thank you.
Governor Howard Dean, M.D.

16. Here is his influence showing in the delivery of petitions.
This is how it works....he is not giving national interviews for a while..just locally when he travels. This is his influence showing here in this petition delivery.

http://www.democrats.org/blog/comment/00011726.html#comments

"DNC delivers your voice to Congress
Last week we asked you to sign a petition saying that you stood with Congressional Democrats in their battle against Social Security privatization - a plan that would involve cutting benefits and borrowing trillions of dollars from foreign governments. Last night, your signatures and comments - over 216,000 of them - were printed on 11,600 sheets of paper and loaded into boxes. Earlier today we wheeled the boxes into the Capitol and delivered them to House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, where he read through them, invited reporters in to discuss the serious dangers of the President's Social Security plan, and thanked you all for your support.

Your voices are making a difference. If you haven't done so already, please sign the petition today."

20. Where's Dean? In TN, DC, and even Canada with Dems Abroad.
He is at Vanderbilt on March 22, then has a DNC fundraiser in TN on the morning of the 23. Then to DC at night. Busy guy. But guess what I read at the blog today. Many were complaining that he was going to DC and not just to the South. Gripe, gripe, gripe.

Also he is working on getting 4 staff members in each state for a permanent campaign by the end of 2005. That is an awesome undertaking.

For anyone in the DC area -

For example, in GA, the GA Democratic party leads the GOP substantially in fundraising this year. This stunning achievement has been credited to the example set by Howard Dean.

What you're asking is equal to me bringing a damaged computer to a pizza place and expecting them to fix it. It's not his JOB to hold press conferences everytime something in congress passes or doesn't pass.

38. I think it's the job of Reid and Palozzi...correct???
I think the only way any 'opposition voice' will be heard is if basically ALL the Dems in Congress go stand on the front steps and have the leaders raise holy hell in front of the cameras. Unfortunately when only a couple stand in front of a mike, the media doesn't cover it. BUT if it looks like the whole Dem congressional delegation is in a uproar, they will. Unfortunately, we have those little snakes that go along with the Repubs and sure as shit, the press will make sure they feature them to counteract any message.

Mary Landrieu who screwed environmentalists. Dean is not suppose to set policy, remember? But Mary Landrieu can f*k Dem policy all she wants because she is a Hill Dem.

You should direct your ire at DINO's like Landrieu and at Senate Minority Leader Reid, who should crack the whip on Dems, like Landrieu.

42. Have you signed the Voting Rights Act petition yet?
Dear President Bush and Washington Republicans:

I demand that you support the efforts by Democrats in Congress to enact real election reform that ensures every American's right to vote.

In 1965, the Voting Rights Act was signed into law, guaranteeing the right to vote and removing barriers that systematically kept minorities away from the polls. Forty years later, too many Americans who go to the polls are forced to wait for hours or even turned away.

I call on you to publicly support the reauthorization of the Voting Rights Act. In addition, it is far past time for real election reform that will ensure the problems faced by voters in 2000 and 2004 do not happen again.
