50 Republicans voted for deep benefit cuts and massive debt increases
Found this on a post at Kos.

Apparently Bill Nelson introduced an amendment to the appropriations bill on Tuesday that was intended "To express the sense of the Senate that Congress should reject any Social Security plan that requires deep benefit cuts or a massive increase in debt."

Roll Call

50 Republicans voted against it.

50 Republicans are on the record as for deep benefit cuts and massive increases in debt.

12 of them are up for reelection in 2006. One (Hutchinson) is more than likely not running. So we have 11 Republicans who gave us a vote to repeat over and over again from here until Nov. 7, 2006.

George Allen.
Conrad Burns.
Lincoln Chafee.
John Ensign.
Orrin Hatch.
John Kyl.
Trent Lott.
Richard Lugar.
Rick Santorum.
Jim Talent.
Craig Thomas.

I gotta say, I'm really surprised to see Chafee's name on this list.

Apologies if this was repeated, but thought I'd mention it.

4. They probably made Chafee vote NO...
...beacause it was so close. He said on meet the press that he is against benefit cuts and adding to the defecit.

5. Even better...
His words don't match his vote. He's in a very dangerous place right now. The Republicans don't think he's conservative enough, and they're likely going to try and challenge him in the primary. Meanwhile, last I saw his numbers were very low. Of the people on this list, I'm surprised how many potentially vulnerable Senators put themselves out there on this. Santorum, Chafee, Allen (if Warner runs), Burns.

6. I suspect they aren't terribly worried
Those "made" (wo)men who are uncritical in their support of this perverted regime know precisely that the fix is in. They have the ear of the wastrels; their consciences are clear. Those who are well and truly immersed in evil, contrary to popular opinion, sleep more soundly than honest folk, knowing too well they will easily find a market for their ideas.
The ones who find themselves disturbed by the sheer vileness of their associates will, no doubt, find themselves involved in a quick trip to the wood shed, should they dare to complain.
