Simple Song of Freedom
I'm sending this tune (either Bobby Darin, Tim Hardin, or Kevin Spacey) around the world. Music says a shitload more than words can say.....join me. I've sent it to friends in the USA, China, Japan, Philipines, Germany, England, Canada....Send the tune to 10 people on your mail list....ask them to send to 10. If we're all on the same musical page....think about it.

SIMPLE SONG OF FREEDOM
(Bobby Darin)
Tim Hardin - 1970

(Chorus)
Come and sing a SIMPLE SONG OF FREEDOM
Sing it like you've never sung before
Let it fill the air
Tell the people everywhere
We, the people here, don't want a war.

Hey there, Mister Black Man can you hear me?
I don't want your diamonds or your game
I just want to be someone known to you as me
And I will bet my life you want the same

(Repeat Chorus)

Seven hundred million are you listening?
Most of what you read is made of lies
But speaking one to one, ain't it everybody's sun
To wake to in the morning when we rise?

(Repeat Chorus)

Brother Solzhenitsyn, are you busy?
If not, won't you drop this friend a line?
And tell me if the man, who is plowing up your land
Has got the war machine upon his mind?

(Repeat Chorus)

No doubt some folks enjoy doing battle
Like presidents, Prime ministers and kings
So let's all build them shelves where they can fight among themselves
And leave the people be who love to sing.

(Repeat Chorus)

Let it fill the air, tell the people everywhere
We, the people, here don't want a war...

peace.

There are thousands hacking at the branches of evil
to one who is stiking at the root.

Oh, and speaking of songs, I was researching "This Land is Your Land," and found one version of the lyrics Guthrie sang, where the last verse is very poigniant....
