Writing Living Will, naming Tom Delay as
having power of attorney to make all medical decisions.

I thought about putting my wife in charge, but you never know. She could find someone else, or want my money.

Tom, however, is a good christian man. Look at how he's taken the time and trouble to get to know Terry Schiavo, and the concern he has taken for her welfare.

I know that Tom would always put my best interests first. He would care for me like a family member, and consider all the options as cooly as a judge.

Sleeping easily tonight.

3. He probably knows what's best for me ...
...even though he's never met me. Thank you for your post, I could have screwed up and just appointed someone who knows and loves me.

4. LMAO
Ha!

My wife wanted Al Swearingen from Deadwood for her power of attorney, especially after he suffocated that poor minister. Guess she doesn't trust me.

But it was hard breaking the news to her that he was only an actor.

5. Can we also make him liable for medical bills incurred by his decision?
If so, we could watch Delay go from pro-life to pro-choice in the blink of an eye.

8. Tom's family hates his guts
"DeLay has two brothers and one sister—he is estranged from one brother and his sister, and has an on-again, off-again relationship with his other brother. DeLay is also estranged from his mother, whom he did not invite to his daughter's wedding. DeLay's wife is named Christine and they have one married daughter, Danielle. DeLay has been a foster parent to several troubled teenagers."

9. And I was thinking Bill Frist
seeing as how he can diagnose by looking at a video tape, he must be a very talented doctor.

I also hear he's quite a veterinarian.

14. I dunno about SPAYING your cat
but after he gets his hands on her, you won't have to worry about unwanted kittens.

I would write it as, "would you write a living will and name Tom Delay? I wouldn't. But he assumes that everyone who isn't able to speak would rather have him decide when and if to end life support, rather than a loved one, or even a judge who has heard the evidence." Something like that.

Now that I think of it, I know where I got that from. It was something encouraging people to write wills, because otherwise the state decided where your money went.
