John Conyers - a real hero

His statement right now - at 11:30 pm on Sunday night - is the finest recap of the Schiavo case and the crap those morons in Congress are trying to pull tonight.

Eloquent and accurate, he did a great job.

Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) gave the finest. ;-)

Seriously, did you hear her? Barney Franks (I don't care what's been said about him, he's doing a stellar job tonight) gave her plenty of time so she wouldn't get cut off. She really spoke with authority.

She's great, though.

And, yes, Barney's brilliant tonight. Hell, he's always brilliant.

Bobby Scott, from my commonwealth of VA, was really good, too. But, Capuano from Massachusetts looked and sounded like he was ready to fistfight anyone who dared to mess with HIS family, in defense of Michael Schiavo.

Mel Watt's doing a number right now, too.

It's a night for heroes, folks. We have a lot to be proud of tonight.

4. John could have been a little more impassioned

But at least he was willing to talk about how the Bush regime is trying to roll the legislative and judiciary branch into one under the executive branch or in other words create a dictatorship.

I certainly hope there is some legal recourse to Michael Schiavo. His name is being dragged through the mud by most every repuke that speaks. :(

He's become a public figure, and there's very little protection for public figures.

But, when this is all over, I'd love to see him go after some of those rightwingnuts.

Who, though, would blame him for wanting never to get involved in anything legal ever again?
