Did anyone else hear the disturbing audio of Terri making noises?

I am still haunted by this and I'm wondering if anyone else heard it.

I was in the car tonight and I was flipping radio stations, when I heard loud moaning and wailing sounds on the radio.

I am not kidding--it was Matt Drudge's radio show and he was playing audio of what he said was Terri Schiavo immediately after her feeding tube was removed.

The parents provided the audio. Her parents asserted that immediately after her feeding tube was removed, that she "protested" by verbally expressing that she didn't want the tube removed.

You could hear her very loudly making, what sounded like, emotionless wailing. It sounded primal. They were long stretches of moans. Her father kept saying, "Does something hurt you?" and "Are you in pain?" He must have said it 10 times--during the 30 seconds of audio that I heard--during which Terri continuously moaned.

This audio was deeply, deeply disturbing.

I can't believe that a parent would violate Terri's privacy and release audio of her making these drawn out sounds in which she sounded like a dying animal.

I also can't believe that her parents would release this information, as a demonstration that Terri was unhappy with her feeding tube being removed. They have gone off the deep end.

This audio clearly gave me the impression that Terri is not there.

I wish I hadn't heard it.

because they weren't there when it was removed.

And this isn't necessarily to you, but how often does this need to be said:

1. Cerebral cortex is gone.

2. Cerebral cortex involves ENTIRE higher brain.

3. No cerebral cortex = no way possible (no brain tissue there to do this) that she can communicate in ANY WAY AT ALL.

She can't even form a THOUGHT inside her head, much less communicate one.

...been more clear. I said "immediately after" the feeding tube was removed--and I meant to say "after" the feeding tube was removed.

It was her father's voice though...I did recognize it.

I guess we'll see how these events shape up.

As others are saying, Drudge isn't exactly Walter Cronkite.

However, the voice sounded like her father's and the tape sounded legitimate.

Her parents haven't been allowed to see her for what? two years now.

There was NO way it was her father on that tape.

Or maybe it was her dad and just a totally made up/edited tape.

this was recorded after this? Did they say in the audio file that she was having her tube removed and then the noises? Or just the noises?

The lengths to which the Schindler family (or, more to the point, their fundie RW underwriters) are going to deceive and distort are truly grotesque. The very circus their poor daughter wanted to avoid (if we are to believe the testimony of her husband, her sister-in-law and others) is unfolding here and now.

I don't direct much of my anger toward the parents...I daresay that, if I were in their position, I'd probably delude myself into the hope that my child would recover from a fatal brain injury and do everything (and I mean everything) I could to save her life. While I strongly disagree with their insane behavior and the odious company they're keeping (like the anti-choice terrorist Randall Terry), I do feel for them.

It's these fundie RW nutjobs and "sanctity of life" assholes that are the target of my ire. This creeping federal nanny state is getting out of hand.

I caught that one today too. Money going to the husband when she dies. Nothing to the parents, hmmm.

the parents will do ANYTHING to keep theit girl alive, even though she wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for a tube keeping her alive.

And the fact that they are playing the "alleged" sounds she made after her feeding tube was removed just shows how bat-shit insane this country has become.

Someone had a post earlier abut how this is all about cash, and how upset her parents were that they didn't get any of the settlement money, because her husband placed it all in a trust for her.

I don't like this family, something smells bad here.

I heard that audio and I cannot believe that her own family would release those primal moans to further their cause.

They say love their daughter, but yet they parade her very private vegetative state out in front of America. Then, they disseminate tapes of her wailing and moaning in an almost inhuman display of emotional noises that sound like an animal.

I just read the press release from the Family Research Council. A quote from the release, "Her father is asking her questions and she is audibly responding to him."

I heard that audio! She is NOT responding!

These people are so sick!!

She was continuously and without emotion--wailing and moaning. Her father attempted to make it seem as if she was "responding" because he kept asking her, "Are you in pain?", as she continued her stream of moaning.

Terri developed bulimia while she was still a young person living at home. Her friends stated that they witnessed bulimic behaviors and so did Michael Schiavo. Her potassium and electrolyte imbalances--at the time of her heart attack--are consistent with bulimia.

In many cases of bulimia, the condition develops out of being raised in a dysfunctional family.

Judging from the sick behavior of these parents--with this audio tape--it is no wonder that this poor girl developed an eating disorder to cope with her mental anguish.

These people sicken me!!

The parents I feel bad vibes with. I have a sense they don't really have her in mind at all. All they want is the money for who knows what.

It was probably Matts wife crying after sex.

if it's really now. How do people know the parents didn't use something from old video footage? How can they prove it's really now? Why don't Tom DeLay and Bill Frist go to her room and try to show us she really is a live if she is? Why just audio? I smell a fish.

...alleged recordings. Also there's a weak assed article on Newshax claiming that they have "sworn affidavits" from a former RN and a CNA that have worked at the hospice center where Terri is, claiming that she can communicate and loves to eat Jello.

Of course the affidavits "look" legit - except that neither one is signed or notarized, which means there's no proof at all of their legitimacy.

The fascists are pulling out all the stops on this one. And that only says to me that they have been planning this scenario for a long long time. Which means whatever other sick games they have planned AFTER getting away with this blatantly unconstitutional action will not be too far behind.
