Nope, no politics none what so ever

Senator James Sensenbrenner (R-WI) (L) and Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler, shake hands after the House passed a bill that would give Terri Schiavo one last chance at life by moving her case into federal court on Capitol Hill, Washington D.C, March 21, 2005.

3. The brother ...
... is doing nothing to boost his family's standing by posing with Delay. The damned crook.

I wish her brother well, but I think he and the Schindler family are wrong. I'm certain none of these family members ever wanted to be in this position, and I hope they get some peace eventually, but they are making a mockery of Terri Schiavo's life, or what is left of it, for purely selfish reasons.

The thing that bothers me the most is the persistent parroting of "we laugh together, she smiles, we talk," etc. that we have heard her family and the thugs say lately. This sounds like wishful thinking at best and political propaganda at worst. I have heard these same lines repeated on Orlando-area talk radio shows by callers within the last week or so, in spite of medical evidence that this is impossible.

8. Me, too
It bothers me also VERY much. Look at the video the Schindlers are running 24/7. You know this is the very best of TS and I believe also it was taken years ago. Her facial expression NEVER changes. She isn't 'responding' to anything. Court-appointed neurologists who have examined her say there is nothing in the brain except spinal fluid. ONLY the Schindlers docs say she is not in a vegetative state and who believes docs hired by either side? Only independent medical opinion has any value.

The Schindlers are now saying she could be speaking in a week or so! I do empathize with their love for their daughter and sister, but they are the last ones to have an objective view of her condition. 30 FL judges have heard this case and agreed.

I really am beginning to lose respect for the Schindlers. They have allowed themselves to be used for political purposes by these religious nuts and political thugs.

4. Of course there is politics involved - that is why we call em politicians
:)
It all seems a game to them, and their job in the game is to do better than the other guy/gal - and sometimes they take 'steroids', cheat, etc.

5. And sometimes they use a private family tragedy to promote
their own careers and advance their political agendas. It's just the name of the game.

7. Republicans distributed a memo in Congress saying
"This is a great political issue."
GOP memo says issue offers political rewards

By The Washington Post

WASHINGTON — Republican leaders believe their attention to the Terri Schiavo issue could pay dividends with Christian conservatives whose support they covet in the 2006 midterm elections, according to a GOP memo intended to be seen only by senators.

The one-page memo, distributed to Republican senators by party leaders, called the debate over Schiavo legislation "a great political issue" that would appeal to the party's base, or core, supporters. The memo singled out Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., who is up for re-election next year.

"This is an important moral issue, and the pro-life base will be excited that the Senate is debating this important issue," said the memo, reported by ABC News and later given to The Washington Post. "This is a great political issue, because Senator Nelson of Florida has already refused to become a co-sponsor and this is a tough issue for Democrats."
