Calling DU researchers... Bush's law (1999) vs Bush's words (2005)
See hear for his current words: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=1675202&mesg_id=1675202&page=

So what is different betweeen his words and his signing of a law to allow hospitals in texas to pull the plug, over family objections, by considering a) financial implications (that is - the money ran out); and b) determining that the patient will not improve... and his words this morning?

I am not so good at finding campaign contributions of the past - but one has to wonder if a case couldn't be made that bush only is strong on his "Culture of Life" when there isn't $$$ involved, using this case and his Texas law.

How much did private hospitals donate to gov bush reelection?

How much did they give to his initial election efforts back in 1999 - and is there a way to determine whether those $ were contributed before, or after his signing of the law?

It always seem to be wise to do as Deep Throat alledgedly advised Woodward and Bernstein... Follow the Money...
