MSNBC Teaser: "Why are so many liberal elites so against religion?"
I was flipping channels and saw these words emblazed (no pun intended) on the screen as a preview for tonight's Scarborogh show. I know that the show is marketed to a conservative audience, but could you imagine what people would say if a left-leaning political "talk show" used something just as derogatory as their preview??

1. I can't wait until Tucker Carlson's show gets going, too.
That will give MSNBC plenty of excuses to air anti-liberal propaganda like this throughout the day.

7. I think the RW is nervous about Jim Wallis's book (God's Politics) and
this is all a preemptive measure to prevent the ideas in Wallis's book from getting a toehold.

I think religion must be the chink in the RW armor.

George Lakoff says that a majority of people who consider themselves Christian consider themselves liberal -- and this is without any effort at all by liberals to connect the dots between liberalism, liberal theology and liberal politics. Meanwhile, the RW spends billions to connect conservativism, conservative theology and conservative politics.

It would probably only take one-tenth the effort the RW employs to solidify a lot of Christians into Democratic voters.

Which is too bad, because we liberal elites could sure use some extra hands (and a few more tithing members) to help feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and house the homeless.

Maybe we need a bigger, flashier cathedral to attract the wealthy folks who try to tell us what constitutes news?
