"I will always err on the side of life" (Bush)---this slogan could be used
to fight against the Death Penality.

This "culture of life" from the WH/Right Congress has so much potential to be used against them.

5. That's not what you said to Karla Faye Tucker.

Pinhead.

From: "Devil May Care" by Tucker Carlson, Talk Magazine, September 1999, p. 106

While driving back from the speech later that day, Bush mentions Karla Faye Tucker, a double murderer who was executed in Texas last year. In the weeks before the execution, Bush says, Bianca Jagger and a number of other protesters came to Austin to demand clemency for Tucker. 'Did you meet with any of them?' I ask.

Bush whips around and stares at me. 'No, I didn't meet with any of them,' he snaps, as though I've just asked the dumbest, most offensive question ever posed. 'I didn't meet with Larry King either when he came down for it. I watched his interview with , though. He asked her real difficult questions, like 'What would you say to Governor Bush?' 'What was her answer?' I wonder.

'Please,' Bush whimpers, his lips pursed in mock desperation, 'don't kill me.'

I must look shocked -- ridiculing the pleas of a condemned prisoner who has since been executed seems odd and cruel, even for someone as militantly anticrime as Bush -- because he immediately stops smirking.

6. Like kicking out the UN weapons inspectors and invading Iraq,
rushing our troops into the supreme crime war of aggression without enough RIFLES and AMMO and BODY ARMOR and such?

Or the bombing of a resturant because maybe Hussein was in it oops nope but a whole bunch of civilians were?

Or the "shock and awe" (aka terrorism) bombing of Iraqi civilians?

That kind of "err on the side of life"?

12. Bush is pathetic
If he will always "err on the side of life", then he's making a phenominal error in keeping his bloody oil war going to fill his and his good ole buddies' pockets and being responsible for over 1500 deaths of our very own people. He's not thinking about their lives being worth much.
:freak:  Lord, what have we done to you?

14. This could be used to fight the opponents of stem cell research.
This could also be used to fight the opponents of a US withdrawal from Iraq (um... those 15-hundred-and-some American dead? Um... that hundred thousand-or-so Iraqi dead? They don't count?).

I say if it's handed to us, WHY THE HELL DON'T WE USE IT?!?!??!

16. "Life" defined as when heart stops OR when brain stops ?
In the old days, when your heart stopped is when death was pronounced. Nowadays, if the brain's electrical firing synapses are still working, I guess that is the new definition-- if the brain is still electrically active ? So the question becomes what is the minimum brain activity required while the heart is artifically or heroically kept active pumping blood to the other parts of the body ?

When, exactly, is brain death ?
