Poll question: Should the Democrats counterattack RE: Schiavo?
The RW has really overstepped themselves on this one, the polls show that they are not fooling America... that people see this as political theater. So how should we respond?

1. Since the Senate vote was unanimous
I don't think the dems are going to do much of anything.

4. Yes Dean should publicized the hypocrisy
But the rest of the party (elected officials) should remain quite for now.
This is a trap to bing right to life front and center let them (repukes) burn in this hell they have created then piss on them later.

5. I vote "other"
I think the Dems should let it play out for now.

When all the federal court actions are complete and the federal courts rule the same way the Florida courts ruled (which I believe they will) THEN the Dems should launch into a full attack on how the Republicans KNEW this would be the outcome, but they did a bunch of grandstanding, abused their power to get the feeding tube temporarily put back in (if that in fact occurs) and were just using this poor woman as a political tool; that they were basically shopping for a Judge that would view the case as they want it viewed; that they have no respect for the constitution and separation of powers, etc. etc.

And they should ABSOLUTELY tie in the Texas law that Bush signed allowing hospitals to pull the plug on indigent patients who have no hope of recovering, even if its against the families will, and ask the Repbulicans how THAT law fits into their "culture of life."

7. Of course they should, but they won't. Why ruin their perfect record?
Democrats don't fight. They cooperate and capitulate. The occasional Dem who tries to speak out gets massacred by the Pubs and marginalized by the Press while their fellow Democrats look the other way.

Democrats ought to fight about EVERYTHING -- contest EVERYTHING the GOP does, even when we're full of crap. That's what the Pubs do, and it obviously works!
