In all seriousness, how much does looks play into your choice of Candidate AND how does this differ from the way you vote? Is your choice in candidate not the same as the one who you think is the best looking?

That's exactly why Bob Graham was my first choice. He's so friggin sexy in a leisure suit!

This post basically says we choose our candidates based on their looks because we are too shallow to understand the issues.

Give this guy what he deserves. Ignore him.

Let's at least show solidarity on this. :-)

We all know men are much more visual. That's why magazines, clubs, etc., do so well. You don't see that with women. Women go more for character than looks.

(myself, Mairead, Desertrose, Corporatewhore, revcarol and a host of others) do so because he looks so much like a GQ model. :crazy:

I've heard that stereotype twice. The first time was when John Kitzhaber defeated Denny Smith (formerly known as one of the ten dumbest Congressmen) for the governorship of Oregon in 1994. I heard two Republican types complaining that Kitzhaber had won only because the women voters had swooned over his looks. Right, as if nobody could tell that Denny Smith was as dumb as a sack of Oregon filberts.

The second time was when Bill Clinton was reelected. Again a bunch of Republican men were complaining about women voting for the handsome guy.

I think it's all projection. If some Baywatch babe were running against Janet Reno or Madeline Albright, I bet a lot of men really WOULD vote for the one in the bikini (which of course, would not be Janet or Madeline, since they have too much dignity).

But I think it has just as much to do with demeanor.
I like Kerry AND yes I think he's the most good looking BUT I don't know if that's the reason why I choose him. His demeanor is low key and balanced and he strikes me as compassionate. I'm a sucker for guys with sadness in their eyes, I admit it!

I think you can tell a lot about someone by how they project themselves... Somehow looks and personality seem inseparable. A person is the whole package. However many people who aren't conventionally attractive strike me as very handsome because they have such strong and appealing personalities. I think a fairly balanced individual with a certain amount of personal "fire" and an ability to control how they use it is one of the most beautiful types. (If this makes any sense to anyone else, say aye!)

Really as far as I am concerned they could be as ugly as the chimp and I would support them because they have brains and heart.

If one based their support on the most handsome candidate, I'd be working my proverbial butt off for Edwards, or Clark. No doubt, they would both dress up the office of the presidency with their good looks, but I love Dean's energy and resiliency. I like all the candidates very much.
