Today, I became a "Guardian of Liberty" (small, regular donations to ACLU)

Today I became a "Guardian of Liberty" That is the name of the program the ACLU has for supporters who pledge monthly contributions.

I have been a "card carrying member" of the ACLU for over 15 years, making a small contribution each year. But the ACLU, now under the chimperor's reign and the subsequent police state, has an acute need for regular revenue to fight back the Bush Administration Brown Shirts and the Bushies who would shred the Constitution to "protect us from the terra-ists".

The ACLU has developed a new program for donors, called "Guardians of Liberty". I contribute $10 a month, taken automatically from my credit card. They can also send you 12 SASE so you can send a check or money order each month if you don't like auto-billing on your credit card.

I wish the Democratic Party and other progressive causes would develop and implement credit card auto re-billing so it would be easy to make very small, regular contributions. Just FYI, that is how I support DU and Buzz flash.

ACLU haters always think the ACLU defends scum who deserve to die anyway. When they defended Rush Limbaugh, we saw that to be true. But that is what the ACLU does, for chrissake!

They don't like Rush's ideology, they don't like Rush, and they don't condone drug abuse. They are there to make sure the police state does not overstep it's bounds and infringe on our Constitutionally guaranteed rights and liberties.

Conservatives think the ACLU is evil, until they need the help of the ACLU. Hopefully, they they "get it". Does anybody know if Rush stopped knocking the ACLU after they helped him?
