Why isn't there greater media interest in Shrub's hypocrisy re: Schiavo?
To me, the greatest irony (and hypocrisy) is how Shrub jumped to sign the crazy Terry Schiavo law when as Texas Governor in 1999 he signed the Advanced Directives Act which (1) designating the spouse of a patient as the appropriate surrogate decision-maker with regard to life support and (2) declaring that a hospital committee care could decide to end a patient’s life support even if the patient’s entire family and surrogate decision-maker wanted the life support to continue.
I posted that article and bill info on a different message board discussing the Schiavo case and one fundie asswad actually had the NERVE to say 'Yeah well that was 6 years ago ! I'd certainly hope a politician is allowed to change his mind once he has time to think about an issue and see other sides to the story'.
Um, hello? Aren't you fundie asswads the ones who were throwing flip-flops at John Kerry all last fall ??? :eyes:
I can't even dialog with them, they are so wrapped up in their own twisted version of reality. It's exasperating.
