So I saw my Congressman today...
For those who do not know me, I have the rather um talentless JD Hayworth as my representive in congress and I ran against him this last election.

Anyway, I went to one of his townhall meetings where he talked for nearly an hour and a half, answered no one's questions (including mine) and managed to say NOTHING except Republican talking points. This town hall meeting was to showcase the screwing with Social Security that Bush wants to do while JD added the caveat that HE has not committed to anything, so I think the plan is not going to happen.

We also need to start asking about how this will impact the stock market. (this was my question) Because if you have the government buying stocks, what is going to happen if you have a dump by the government (which is in this plan because there would be a transfer from stocks to bonds in the last five years) and the analysts decide that means they need to dump the stock they have and it causes a panic?

1. Hi there. I'm sorry I missed that townhall
A woman I know who was there said JD wore more makeup than she does. Unbelievable how some talentless hack sportscaster was able to parlay his hairdo into a political career. Jackass.

7. Due to gerrymandering by the first
Republican run statehouse in Georgia with a Repugnican gov as well, my congressman a Dem has been relocated into a heavily Repug. district. My Grandparents are spinning in their resting places as the Repubs gut the Hope scholarship program ad ruin 100's of years of Democratic rule and tradition. This state grows redder by the day and a good Democrat leader is no where in sight. I'd like to see Max Cleland give it a go again, but I think the bastards crushed his spirit when they questioned his patriotism. You loose three limbs in Nam and loose to a bushite banker.....damn shame!

When the baby boomers all start pulling their IRA assets out of the market you'll get a glimpse of what will happen.
