Remember how there was this whole subculture of people who APPEARED normal, but were really on earth to support and sacrifice themselves for the antichrist?
ok, bear with me, here.
I'm amazed, frankly, at something I've observerd over the last few years: a subculture of lie-lovers. People who adore people who lie to them, who act like groupies to get close to the liars by lying themselves to get their attention.
Most people I know in real life are not fond of lies. even the republicans I know are easily misled but do not seek to lie or want to be lied to. (of course, they just rationalize the lies so that they don't perceive them as lies). I'm not talking about those people...those are relatively normal people--people who recognize that truth is better than lies...they are just misled into believing lies as truth.
no, no, I"m talking about the subculture of people who KNOWINGLY lie, who get off on lying, whose currency of power is to lie convincingly to curry favor with the big liars. You know the people I'm talking about here: The swift boat liars for example: they KNOW they're making stuff up, they plan on how to lie effectively, they deny they're lying, but since they manufacture the lie, they KNOW its a lie.
This is a subculture of people for whom the natural aversion to lies and lying is simply gone, almost as if surgically removed. Take the current Shiavo situation: there is that nurse who KNOWINGLY LIES about the husband, there is Randall Terry, who KNOWINGLY LIES about Ms. Schiavo laughing and speaking, you have Frist, Who KNOWINGLY LIES about her diagnosis.
who are these people? and how can we protect ourselves from them? are they a collection of sociopaths, immune to a conscience?
