The fairest way to fund Social Security
Edited on Fri Mar-25-05 11:47 AM by Atman
Tax the churches.

SS is all about taking care of our fellow man when they're old, providing substitence funding when a spouse/parent passes away. Very "Christian" things to do, IMHO.

So, the church should have no problem paying their fair share of tax to help fund the projected shortfall. They should consider it the ultimate faith-based program, and thank George Bush for the opportunity to help so many.

Right?

1. As the Bible says, a camel would pass through the eye of a needle
before this will happen.

2. Great Idea!!! Extend it to the poor and sick (welfare and nat'l health)
That is such a fantastic idea! Tax the churches and use the revenue to pay for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Just like Jesus said! We could be a truly Christian based nation.

Of course, Jesus also mandated the feeding of the poor and caring for the sick, so I guess we we need to collect more money for the Churches to fund AFDC (aid to families with dependent children, aka "food stamps"), welfare, and of course a United States National Health Plan!

*****

If we do that, when God "judges us as a nation" - as he says he will do in Matthew 25:32

"And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth sheep from the goats:"

And the criteria he will use to seperate the sheep nations (those destined for Heaven) from the goat nations (those destined for Eternal Damnation in Hell) is Domestic Economic Policy, specifically how we care for the poor and sick (e.g. Welfare and National Health) - See Matthew 25:33-46

The Churches will be so happy that the Federal Government is helping the follow Jesus's mandates, they probably won't even miss their billions!
