2. Clark kicked ass on the Michael Moore question
He has support from McGovern, another Senator name?, a secretary of the Navy, has broad support across the party. Going to change leadership of America.

11. Yeah, but he had a chance there
to say what McCain said in 2000: "I was serving in the military while Bush was defending the coast of Texas from invasion..." and he might have mentioned the extreme privilege Bush used to get that gig. The question was direct, as direct on that topic as we'll see in this race. 'Twas a whiff, imho.

106. I thought that Clark handled the question skillfully
He didn't sacrifice Moore, and he treated the question with the total lack of respect that it deserved by saying that it wasn't something he intended to look into.

83. The candidates are getting about 30 second sound bites.
When their time is over a loud bell rings. FAUX is making sure no candidate can take a real stand. Once Clark gets the nomination, I firmly believe a confrontation over bush*'s v Clark's military credentials will become prominent. How could it not?

38. Hume maybe. I think Jennings' question to Clark helped Clark.
And it wouldn't surprise me if Jennings knew it.

The AWOL issue is not for a candidate to bring up. It is for the media to raise because of the candidate. That's the only way AWOL comes to life.

Jennings and Clark both advanced the AWOL issue today. A home run.

86. Jennings was being a dick

He was being a dick because he wasn't asking a question. He was specifically stating that Moore's statement was inappropriate and unsupported. He was baiting Clark into defending Michael Moore.

And when Clark didn't bite ... HE ASKED AGAIN!!!!!!!

Clarks response was great. He state that was Michael Moore's opinion. And Michael Moore isn't the ONLY one who has made that statement.

Of course around here, we know it's 100% true.

This is an issue for the general election. Candidates need to talk about issues during the primary. Direct Bush attacks on issues like military abandonment, cocaine use, and Skull & Bones should be saved for the general election ;-)

44. I'm not sure, but I think he has addressed it
Edited on Thu Jan-22-04 08:52 PM by khephra
LIke Kerry could have stood against the war vote, Clark has the moral standing to be able to make that a point in this campaign. He's come close to mentioning this before, but backed off of this.

As I mentioned above, Clark is in my top three. He goes up to second and sometimes he goes down to third. I've been looking at him real hard the last week, and this is showing me that the General will sometimes back down instead of speaking the truth.

But I am happy that he defended Moore's right to speak his mind.

Win one, lose one in my book.

Believe me, I know about picking a time to fight.

That time passed long ago. We're in a fight. It's about time we start acting like it.

You and I both know that Clark has had time and the inclination for looking into the Bush AWOL charge. He dodged that subject.

I guess we're back to playing politics as usual, even for outsiders like Clark.

Either way he woulda got slammed.
