and pointed out the hypocrisy (she didn't use that word, but still) of the politicians who've interfered in this case, considering how little is spent to treat and prevent traumatic brain injuries, and the fact that Bush "zeroed out" the funding from the feds.

Andrea didn't follow up with that statement at all -- just asked another question and then ended the interview.

toward the woman during the beginning of the interview. It's abundantly clear that she doesn't come by that naturally because I was actually embarassed for her and her Oprah-esque manner. Once the woman got vocal about the politicians butting into such a personal issue and Bush's major F.U. to patients with brain injuries by removing the funding from the budget, Andrea became her brittle self again quickly.
A follow-up question in regard to the issue the woman raised about the budget should have been asked and discussed.
Bush flies home to "save" Ms. Schiavo as though he's a one-man healer of the nation, yet he apparantly thinks so little of others like Terri Schiavo that he can't bother to throw a few bucks toward their care by our society.
Why is it that everything he says and does is taken at face value - no questioning about his use of the situation to throw a little bone to the fundies, no discussion of the total fuck-up this has been. And with a live guest right in front of her who works in the field of helping people who have brain injuries and knows how the government REALLY treats these people, Andrea practically puts her fingers in her ears and starts humming loudly!
She is a true media whore. Fishnet stockings, stiletto heels, bright red lipstick, mini skirt and tube top, and willing to do anything for her paycheck.
