Frist and Delay on tape at Family Research Council Washington Briefing
Schiavo is here from God to show how barbaric this nation is becoming, says DeLay. Only people like him can save it from the scourge of the Democrats.

Frist on disposing of "activist trial judges" as number one on the agenda:

In this Congress, we’re going to continue to work on issues that are important to you, to me, above all to America’s future. That includes good judges, the sanctity of marriage, and, I just mentioned, the culture of life, as well as protection for the unborn. One of the first tests we will have is this whole confirmation of judges. This is at the top of the challenges that we must overcome in this Congress. We all know that activist judges in the past have recently cited international law written by U.N. bureaucrats, they directly undermined marriage being between a man and a woman, they struck down our partial-birth abortion bans, and these activist judges are not interpreting the Constitution, they’re re-writing it, and that’s wrong, and it’s something that I know you’re committed to and I’m committed to. I’m also committed to overcoming the minority’s filibuster and restoring this 220 years or more of Senate tradition and history --

(applause)

-- we’re going to have to make sure that every judge who comes out of the committee gets the up or down vote he or she deserves. The minority broke the tradition, they violated the founders’ intent, and we will bring the President’s nominees up for a vote, and we will confirm them.

Hear DeLay hiss the words "the Minority" like it is something to be exterminated, and testify how the vicious, vast leftwing conspiracy is out to ruin good godly life-preserving conservatives like himself:

....And I tell you, ladies and gentlemen, one thing that God has brought to us is Terri Schiavo, to elevate the visibility of what’s going on in America that Americans would be so barbaric as to pull a feeding tube out of a person that is lucid and starve them to death for two weeks. I mean, in America, that’s going to happen if we don’t win that fight. So it’s bigger than any one of us, and we have to do everything that is in our power to save Terri Schiavo and anybody else that may be in this kind of position.

And let me just finish with this. This is exactly the issue that’s going on in America, of attacks against the conservative movement, against me and against many others. The point is, the other side has figured out how to win and defeat the conservative movement, and that is to go after people personally, charge them with frivolous charges, link that up with all these do-gooder organizations funded by George Soros, and then get the national media on their side. That whole syndicate that they have going on right now is for one purpose and one purpose only, and that’s to destroy the conservative movement. It’s to destroy conservative leaders, not just in elected office but leading. I mean, Ed Feulner of the Heritage Foundation was under attack in the National Journal. This is a huge, nationwide, concerted effort to destroy everything we believe in. You need to look at this, at what’s going on, and participate in fighting back.

9. In the history of American Politics this must be the new low.
At what point will these sanctimonious sycophants reach bottom? The only exploitation they missed was an appeal to write a check to the GOP! Give them enough time and they'll work it into a fundraising campaign. x(

8. This is the kind of talk...
...irresponsible, manipulative opportunists have uttered before civil wars and ethnic cleansings. Anyone that disagrees, in the slightest, is savaged and villified if it suits their purposes. The BushCo regime always seems to return to those judges. Why is that? And EVERY ONE OF THEM a member of the Heritage Foundation. What's up with that?

There's one branch of government with a slower turnover than any other, and they are working overtime to flush and pack it. There were those that predicted that this Shiavo stuff had NOTHING to do with their concerns over "sanctity of life" and everything to do with a full frontal assault on EVERY judgeship in the United States, and every judge that does not bow to their corporatist theocratic agenda on EVERY decision they hand down.

I can just imagine Delay in some dark room, smelling of feces and urine, screaming and gurgling that he must EXTERMINATE the liberals and Democrats. He's one corrupt, twisted little fuck.

15. There was discussion of this tape at the beginning of the wee on a
few cables stations (msnbc cnn--), but it really did not pick up too many legs. It was also mentioned in either the Wash Post and NYTimes (Maureen Dowd among others I think). But the sparce coverage faded after a day or two. One of the news organizations had obtained the tape early in the week.
But sure hope it gets more legs now that all these court cases are in the background. Maybe??

19. DeLay's martyr complex: he and Terri both agents of God's will
being persecuted by an evil, vast, left-wing conspiracy. What a fucking lunatic. When the people running the country start to believe they're doing God's Will, we're a short slide from dictatorship. Forget that 70% of the country thinks they've gone insane. Forget that Bush's approval rating is in the toilet.

22. Man, this is a scary paragragh, these people are truly mad.
One way they stopped churches from getting into politics was Lyndon Johnson, who passed a law that said you couldn’t get into politics or you were going to lose your tax-exempt status because they were all opposed to him when he was running for President. That law we’re trying to repeal; it’s very difficult to do that. But the point is, when they knock out a leader, then no other leader will step forward for a while, because they don’t want to go through the same thing. If they go after and get a pastor, then other pastors shrink from what they should be doing. It forces Christians back into the church, and that’s what’s going on in America: “The world is too bad, I’m going to go get inside this building and I’m not going to play in the world.” That’s not what Christ asked us to do. And so they understand that, it is a political maneuver, and they are going to try to destroy the conservative movement, and we have to fight back

23. What they are REALLY calling for is a kind of civil war.
They want to destroy all dissent, all agreement and force their narrow views on everyone. They are willing to do anything to accomplish this. Absolutely anything. They are seeking to justify this by hiding under a religious guise, but they are acually calling for the extermination of all thought except what they control. That would be war, civil war, and they are preparing for that with "Homeland Security" and the "Patriot Act." Dissent is increasingly being seen as seditious, dangerous, calling for violent repression.

24. "Out to destroy the conservative movement/leaders"? You bet!
That's the whole point!

The "conservative movement" or "leadership" is destroying/has destroyed america - what it was founded on and has always stood for!

You bet WE want to take america back on it's progressive liberal path.

So, it's OKie dokie for these right wing christo-fascist repukes to want to destroy US but WE can't do the same to them?

Only, THEY are the ones who are seeking to "destroy" US. THEY started this whole thing. WE were willing to live and let live. Now that WE are fighting back in kind, they wail and scream.

Go cry on somebody else's shoulder.

I'm tired of playing by "roberts rules" and the same old rules when they are constantly changeing the rules whenever they "win" so that the new "game" is dirty fighting. I'm tired of "turning the other cheek". I have only two, and they were both cut-off by THEM.

THEY set the new rules - and it's about time WE played by them TO WIN!

Yeah right.
