Colorado's Salazar ought to hear from us..
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 10:13 AM by annabanana
here's his webform: http://salazar.senate.gov/contactus.cfm

He's backed off of his support for the "nuclear option". I know his Repub'lite tendencies are very irritating, but we can't afford to let him get his back up and re-defect!

1. my two cents...
Dear Senator, I am emailing to voice my concern on the so-called 'nuclear option'. Surely at this time in our country, with the amount of scandal and mis-use of government procedures, there must be some rule left standing to prevent these abuses from escalating. However,if the intent in the application of the 'nuclear option',is to destroy any remaining tool of democracy, perhaps it is best to put the final nail in the coffin and remove all doubt of what government in the US really is. Thank you for your time.

Sen. Ken Salazar has backed off the position he took during his campaign last year that Democrats should not filibuster President Bush's judicial nominees.

Republicans had been counting on Mr. Salazar, a Democrat from Colorado, as a key vote against the filibusters. His defection is a serious blow to the hopes of Senate Republicans who wanted more bipartisan weight behind their "nuclear option" to dislodge filibusters.

______

Washington Times is castigating Salazar for supposedly changing his prior position that Democrats should not filibuster judicial nominees. Take everything you read in the Washington Post with a grain of salt.

That said. I hope Salazar would join in the filibuster of the totally unacceptable nominees that were previously filibustered and that Dubya was renominated.
