A sampling of recent good news from "Free Republic"
I've been doing a little snooping...

"I am a long time Republican. I have a cousin that has just retired as a Republican senator. I have another cousin that is a Republican Assemblyman. This night, my husband and I are leaving the Republican party that we have loved, and joining up with the Constitution party. We will probably be losing for several elections, but we will at least be voting for the principles that we believe in."

Sad but true.

Of course, I'd like to see them see the light, change their ways, and join the Democratic Party, but you can't reason with a zealot, so this is the next best thing.

2. Hell yes
Now if we had more Jim Wallis types that speak of true faith instead of power and more of it, we could set those bitches packing.

3. Always good news
to see them turning on each other.

I would really like to see the success of the Constipation (so full of shit) party, if nothing else, than to really divide the power of the right. Give liberals and moderates a real chance.

10. the only thing the constitution party is missing is
good ol' double D himself, david duke.

i honestly agree with you, i hope the constitution party gets about 30% of the fundies in the next election. hopefully, they will get some mainstream coverage, and we'll end up with some really delicious soundbites - "livetercus say-ed minimum wage is unconstitushurnal, mah mammy read it too mah"

i am anticipating a hurricane of unitelligable lunacy from those idiots if they ever manage to convince anyone that they can turn out in numbers - so here's to hoping every flannel wearing inbreeder can make it to the polls in '06, and dull the edge of the lunatic fringe.

:toast:

4. Frying pan to the fire...
... I'd say. Didn't Alan Keyes run (twice!) for president as a Constitution Party candidate?

If you want to find the most wackos per square inch, the best place to look would be the annual meeting of their platform committee.... :)

5. Here's a good one:

"The men buried at Concord and Lexington turn away in disgust."
I, too, turn away from the Bush Brothers in disgust. I know that George tried, and that Jeb has saved Terri in the past, but they have now failed. They both blew it, and jeb better start looking for a vocation.

7. They're joining the Constitution Party...
as in "Change the Constitution to suit our religious beliefs"? Ugh.

Don't know much about the Constitution Party, but I take it that these posters are fundies.

8. I'll believe it when I see it.
No offense or anything but I honestly don't believe a word of what any of them say. As soon as the next election rolls around and the GOP and the 'media' throw more 'hate the gays' or 'liberals are taking over' crap out they will all fall in line like the good sheeple that they are.

9. Translation:
"We're distancing ourselves from the huge anti-Bushco backlash that's coming."

"Don't blame us, we're not the party in power."

No, you just put them there.

I'll scream if one of their arguments starts by saying, "Well, we've got looming deficits as far as the eye can see .......".

11. I sure don't think they will be joining the Democrats
Edited on Sun Mar-27-05 07:36 AM by shrub chipper
(and that's fine with me).

I really think there were more posts than that about people here leaving us because of the TS imbroglio.

That's the purpose of a wedge issue.

If by "several" she means "all" she's absolutely right :).
