The Dean "debate requirement " did he answer the call...I say .."Yes"
He answered questions directly with a sense of calm...didn't screw up on "gottcha questions"...and actually reversed a few questions into "home runs".

I thought Kerry did well...and his questions were different...but it doesn't change that he held his own.

1. Dean was super
duper. This was his best debate, IMHO.

Kerry got a little toung tied on some of the answers, but hit the ball out of the park on Vietnam, veterans rights, and Tom Delay's and GWB's lack of qualification to play the patriot card,

In general they all did well. . .and I was proud of Edwards, Sharpton, and Dean for taking on the divisive framing of the questions.

13. brother, i hear you
but I expect at least 2 October surprises.

I believe we need a bulletproof candidate in the GE. bulletproof in 2004 means Purple Hearts.

never a bad word about Dean from me. i will tell my grandchildren about him,

you can be pissed or dissapointed and I won't fight back, because the IWR was wrong. 100% wrong.

I'm conflicted, sure, as much as ever in my life...you can say i'm a sucker, an idiot, a turncoat, anything, and I'll say damn we would get along as human beings.

sorry and sorry.

15. Even so, with October surprises how is Kerry
making his bed now?

If he's gonna get Osama, he's gonna win...no matter what.

Don't fret on that one.

3. The "not on their ground, but on our ground" comment
was the best of the night, and one of his best ever (and he managed to defend Edwards while doing it). I think he got it back.

4. Yes--And Primetime was even better....
Anyone who watched this can only wonder if this benighted country even deserves this eminently sane and NORMAL couple...

6. They said Dean needed to do something to get his campaign
back, and he most certainly did. Dean was absolutely on fire tonight.

To top it off, America got to know him and his wife for a half hour tonight on Primetime, and they were both extremely disarming, sincere, and even charming.

I can only wait for Letterman....HEE HEE!!

11. Wish I could stay up.
The interview was great and offered the personal perspective that people relate to, lacking in the debates. Dean did very well in the debates and got in a zinger about the IWR candidates.

8. Dean was good
and did what he could with the time allowed him, but I'm not sure he hit the home run he needed, but he may have stopped the bleeding. I think he and Judy were wonderful on "Primetime" though and that might be a big help.

9. See here now son
At one time, not too long ago, over 45% of NH voters preferred Dean. All Dean needed to do was remind them of why they liked him in the first place. He did that perfectly. It was true Dean and that's going to be enough to get moving in the right direction again.

Does anybody smell something? Do I smell a ....

16. He's just gonna do the Top Ten
which is the sweetest icing on the cake. Saved the best for last. Hee hee I'm a happy as a little girl!! (as Mike Myers said as Dieter on Sprockets, SNL)

It's also the real killer to the "Dean is crazy" rumor. Night night, naysayers.

17. OMIGOD!!! I love that scream thing!LMAO!!!!!

I won't get to see the debate until replay, and will swicth around to catch Letterman at the same time.
But I think Howard and Judy were just wonderful on Primetime! They were a sweet, normal, loving couple.

Believe it or not, my few Republican friends have been very supportive through the Iowa caucus and
scream speech. They all said they saw nothing wrong with the speech; that it was just a big pep rally, and didn't get what the fuss was about. They also said caucuses suck, and they've been burned before too.

Counting down the minutes to Letterman and the replay!!!!!

(BTW, I am babysitting tonight, and this lady has my old, old, old computer I gave her for free 5 years ago...... it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! So, no real-time posting during the show this time!)
